Carrying on a ton of meds--problems/tips?

I have to carry on (for fear of losing and/or if needed before we get our luggage back) a nebulizer and its parts, 2 boxes of diff neb meds (liquid ampules), 3 diff inhalers, 2 nasal mists, 2 other Rx meds, and 2 OTC meds for 2 of my children. Do you think I'll have probs? It almost sounds like a laughable rhetorical question, but I really do need to know! The boxes and pill bottles all have the Rx info on them, but obviously I don't have info on the nebulizer itself or the 2 OTC meds we need. I wonder if I should ask the ped to write a note on her Rx pad listing all the ones we need and why? Thanks for any pointers!

I don't think you will have any problems.

Last trip I carried all my insulin pens, otc meds, Rx meds. and my scooter. I had no trouble at all. Other than my scooter testing positive to a swab test. Once cleared, we were on our way. TSA didn't blink twice over the insulin and needles.

DD is on about 15 different oral meds, and 5 different nebbed meds. We've never had an issue with security, and I don't even carry them in the boxes with the info. I generally split them up into different ziplocs, and the pills go into a 7 day pill case. We've never been hassled at all. The nebulizer does usually end up getting swabbed though, so just make sure it's easy to get out of whatever bag you put it in. I made that mistake the first time and had to completely repack a bag because it was on the bottom.

Keep in mind, as long as a bag contains only meds/med equipment, they cannot count it against your carry-on count. You don't have to stress about that, at least. I have heard of people getting a Dr's statement, so if it would make you more comfortable, by all means do so, but it isn't required, and shouldn't be needed. Hope this helps.

I have 20+ differents medications plus my nebulizer. I have 2 different boxes of nebs, 2 types of inhalers (so 5 total...we bring 3 xoponex and 2 symbicort), 4 creams, epipens, and about 15 oral medications. I always take the original bottles with me. I'm just not personally comfortable with NOT takign the original containers.

We use a small rolling suitcase to carry all of that. Since it only ever contains medical stuff, it doesn't count as a carryon.

We have flown many times with neublizer,meds, suction machine and never had a problem. Everytime our neublizer and suction machine needed to be swabbed but, only took a minute. I always try and have all my daughters medical supplies together in it's own carry-on makes it much easier.

Thanks! I will prob skip the dr's note then and just carry them in one small bag together.
