Hi everyone,

When I visit Florida this year I will be bringing a DSLR and a camcorder.

I don't want to have to carry lots of separate bags. Ideally I would like a bag that I can store both cameras in plus my purse etc.. But I don't want something dull, I would like something stylish. It's just so hard to find!

Any ideas? I don't have kids so I can't use a stroller to store things.

Thanks!:goodvibes

I have always taken more than one camera. Last year I had a DSLR, a bridge camera, a compact camcorder and a compact point and shoot. I chose the most appropriate camera for the day and only took that and the camcorder with me and the DSLR and camcorder fitted easily into a compact backpack along with a few other items. If we were doing a waterpark or going light I would change cameras accordingly in the room before we set off again.

This year I will be doing the same, but like you I want a bag that is multi functional and would prefer it to double up as a park bag as well as hand luggage for the plane (which means it needs to accommodate a laptop as well.

This is the one I have been looking at.

Obviously the laptop won't be in the parks with me and again I won't be taking all the cameras out at any given time.

How many (and what) lenses are you planning to take with you?

Wow you certainly won't miss the action

I have been looking at the Lowepro Passport Sling, it looks really good but it would be better if it was smaller

I know where you are coming from. I have got used to walking around the parks with a moderate sized backpack and I have to trade off either by brining a separate park bag and handluggage bag or by taking just one, but having a bigger bag to carry around the parks.

No, I don't miss the action. I came back last year with over 4000 photos, even after deleting plenty on the move :rotfl:

What kind of cameras do you have and how many lenses are you taking?

I will be bringing a compact camcorder and I have the Nikon D3000 with just the regular 18-55mm lens.

If it's just a kit lens it would fit in a holster style DLSR case. I bought an inexpensive Hama one last year. It has a little pouch on the strap for memory cards and took my Nikon with kit lens mounted plus CPL filter in its case and the camcorder. Best of all, the Hama case fitted snugly into my backpack. I must be honest though, I had my camera out and switched on most of the time so I only packed it if I specifically wasn't going to use it on a ride. The Hama is not going this year as it just accommodate my 18-105 lens but not with the lens hood attached which would be a major inconvenience if I had to keep putting it on and off everytime I put it away or take it out again.

Just for fun, take a look at what some of the serious photographers take with on a trip. :rotfl:(First post has pics )

Things is I already have a regular camera bag. I want something stylish that doesn't look like a camera bag. :goodvibes

That is nuts!!! Sod doing that lol!!!

Would it be worth considering ordering online just before you leave and having it sent to your resort/hotel/villa?

I have thought about that but then if it done't fit my needs it would be too late to send it back and change it.

I want to be prepared before I leave really. :goodvibes

I use Crumpler camera bags, I have a compact DSLR one which has a few extra pockets for spare batteries etc but I also manage to fit my camcorder and point and shoot in it. I tend to just take the lens out at the start of the day that I want to use so this enables me to wear a fairly small across the body bag keeping my hands free. These bags are also waterproof so great for water rides.
