Carrying a beer at the park....

My husband and I did Mission: Space last week and he'd just had a big old beer at Biergarten. It went well. It was not a planned event, just lucked out that it was open.

I personally don't see the problem with walking down the sidewalk, no matter what park, with beer in your cup as long as you're acting appropriately. It's just a drink. If someone walking next to me had beer in their cup and was acting exactly the same as the person on the other side of me with Coke in their cup--I'm not sure I'd even notice for one thing, and I'm not sure how it would be offensive by its mere presence in the cup.

Just don't let him do the Drinking around the world game at Epcot. I did that one year and slept till after noon the next day I was so messed up!

The Drinking around the world game is one in which you buy a beer in each country and you can't buy the next one till you finished the beer from the previous country.

Good Luck!

ahhh yes drinking around the world... tried it once (2000) but only made it from france to mexico... turns out i was enthralled by illuminations and failed to realize the park was closed as soon as it was over... but then again, the two cuban beers i had at bongos, with dinner, may have been a factor... must start earlier... will try again in may (on a night when we have the fairy godmothers, of course)

and remeber, as my good friend ben franklin was quoted:

"There cannot be good living where there is not good drinking."

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

just try and disparage 'the benster"...

my favorite website on the topic of drinking around the world: cracks me up

Disnee Dad Says....................I need to apologize to nataliesdaddy, he is right, I did make a couple presuppositions.

I thought when you said "rising sun", that you meant rising sun. How foolish of me. How could I know that you meant the Rising Sun, which is a place of business. DD knows when to use caps, and I made the "presupposition", that an adult would know the same!

On a lighter note, nataliesdaddy has good taste in beer!

So lets make peace and say that we highjacked this thread and let it die, even if I only posted twice, I want credit! lol...

I think the poster got her answer a loooooong time ago!

Exactly right DisneeDad. Let's all put down the stick, the horse is dead.

The OP's question has been answered so let's all move on.

"Drink-around-the-world is one of my favorite games at Epcot!
I thought we were the only ones who played that!!!!!!

Gees. All this over a beer. You'd think this is the Southern Baptist site.

obnurse Welcome to the DIS, we really are a friendly and helpful bunch here...usually ;)

I'm not sure how a simple question about where beer is allowed managed to parlay itself into 6 pages of discussion, we're an enthusiastic bunch of DISers, aren't we?

So, the question has been asked and answered. Opinions have been given, points have been debated.

Question: Can you carry a beer in the parks?

Answer: You may carry an open (or unopened) container of beer in MGM, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. You may not purchase or carry a container of beer in Magic Kingdom.

I'm going to close this thread now. It is no longer a helpful trip planning thread.

Excellent question, obnurse, thanks for asking it. Have magical trip. I won't be at WDW the same time as you and your DH or I would offer to buy you a beer. I'd love to meet you. Enjoy planning your trip here.
