Hello! I had a question about carry ons for the Disney cruise. I know about the size restriction but is there an amount restriction? I'm planning on bringing a backpack and a tote for the alcohol. Will that be fine?

Thanks! :)

You may carry on as many bags as you feel you can handle. Remember you will be wrangling them until the rooms are ready, typically around 1:30.

When you say alcohol, You know it's beer/wine only, right? Just wanted to make sure you knew.....

Ok, thank you so much!

Yep I knew that. :) Will Mike's Hard Lemonade count as beer though? It's not beer but it's in beer-like bottles and has only 5% alcohol like beer...if not I'll just bring regular beer.

If it's American Mike's it will be fine, because it's a malt beverage so it's technically beer. If it's Canadian it won't, because it's vodka based. That said, if it looks like beer bottles then the screeners most likely won't even ask you to take it out of your bag.

Also can we bring alcohol ashore to Castaway Cay?? It would be nice to knock back a hard lemonade on the beach. :)

In the old days....they say if it fits through an airport carry-on scanner.... you should be fine.

If candles are being used for giving FE gifts, do not pack in cruise carry on, they will confinscate. Pack in checked bags only.
This info was given to me by my TA.

I don't understand the difference, but there we go.

As far as I know, NO. It's the Bahamas, so it would be just like bringing alcohol off the ship in Nassau. And that's not allowed.
Ahh ok! There's juices to be had on Castaway Cay anyways...

LOL that pic

I've never seen a scanner being used as anybody gets off the boat onto Castaway Cay.
True but I also don't wanna get in trouble...

It might have changed in the last two years as the alcohol policy did change, but we took a 4-night back in May 2014 and brought beer and Mike's on the boat with us and were able to bring drinks off the boat with us onto to Castaway Cay. My DH literally ran back onto the boat to get it when he realized others were bringing them! We sat on Serenity Bay drinking :yay:

The official rule is that any alcohol you bring on board (keep in mind you are limited to a 6-pack each) is to be consumed in your room, not in any public spaces. The only exception to that is wine which you can have served at dinner but will be charged a corking fee.

That said, how well that is enforced on the ship and on CC I cannot say.

That's because candles are on the prohibited list. Chances of them being found, I guess, are higher if they are in a carryon bag than a checked bag. Personally, I wouldn't bring them at all. I'd worry that someone might think "Oh, how nice" and light them onboard, not being aware that they are prohibited.

Exactly! "Prohibited" = Do NOT bring. You never know who might "light up."
