Carry-On question?

We have a party of four. Are we allowed 4 carry-ons plus my purse/diaper bag or is my purse considered a carry-on?

I think I know the answer, but since I am only 9 days away from my trip I am second guessing myself on just about everything!!!!

Most airlines allow 1 carry on and 1 personal item like a purse or a laptop carry case. A diaper bag would be considered a personal item.

So in theroy, you can get away with 1 carryon sized suitcase and 1 bag/breifcase/purse etc. per person.

Thanks! I thought that was the case, but I just wanted to double check! Since we are using ME, I am really thinking through what to pack in our carry-ons. I want to make sure we have everything we need to make it through at least one night!
