Carry On question

We are a family of 4, can we bring 2 wheeled carry ons with Delta? My DH will have his wheeled laptop bag, I'll have my purse, and the kids will each have a backpack. Do all of those count as personal items? We will also be checking one larger suitcase.

Each passenger gets one carry-on and one personal item, so you're good to go!

You are generally allowed one bag and one personal item per ticketed PAX. You should be fine. Check Delta's website for allowed bag sizes for carry-ons.

Thanks, I haven't flown since 2004. Also, can I put cosmetic items like mascara tube, eyelash curler in my checked bag or are those ok in the carry on?

Mascara is considered a liquid and falls under the 3-1-1 rule.

Something to keep in mind...

If you're on a Delta "regional jet", you may not get to carry a bag on the plane. If this is the case, they'll have a "drop off" cart next to the stairs leading to the plane. Those bags get put under the plane, and when you deplane, the bags will be brought next to the stairs.

Your "personal" item can be carried on provided it fits under the seat in front of you. So anything you might need ON the plane, carry in a backpack.

Thanks for the tip. I do remember having to do that with my wheeled carry on once. Not a problem if they have to store it. We'll have everything we need for the ride in our personal bags.
