Carry-On Question

I am going to try to do a carry-on for a trip I'm taking in the near future. I usually check a bag when I travel, but I'm trying to avoid the $46 checked bag fee.

So, my makeup is a cream foundation. It is not a liquid, nor a gel, but I'm not sure it is allowed. I can't find any answers on the TSA website, so I know my Dis friends will know the answer. Can I take this cream foundation in my carry on bag. It is in compact with a mirror and is more than 3.4 ounces.

Thanks!

Probably not. TSA agents are pretty serious about those limits.

I've never seen a foundation compact that is more than 3 ounces. You're talking about cream compact foundation similar to this, right?

It's less than 3 oz, so you could carry it in your ziploc baggy of liquids, if you were worried about it. But, it's solid and not a liquid or gel ( doesn't pour, leak, ooze, etc.) so I don't carry mine as a liquid. I've carried various brands through several times.

you are fine with this type of make-up! I travel with similar make up all the time.

There's an error on the Elizabeth Arden site; the quantity is .8 oz., not 8 oz. This is considered a solid anyway, so not an issue but still well under the 3.4 oz. limit.

Yeah, I was going to say...8 ounces is huge! There's no way you would carry around a compact with 8 oz of makeup in it. :)

Oh thank you! I'm relieved. Do I have to put this in the ziplock bag or can I leave it in my makeup bag?

I personally would put it in my 311 bag, but that's just b/c I carry almost nothing in there anyway, and my lip gloss gets lonely.
