Carry On Question

Hi everyone...

We leave in a week for WDW for 10 days! I do not travel much by air. Only on a few occassions. I have 6 people to get through security, me, DH, DS 13, DD 10, DS 1 and my mom. :scared1:

My question is my little one drinks Rice Milk and still has bottles. I am confused on how I can bring this in a thermos on the plane. I need some bottles filled with the rice milk but I also plan on bringing a carton of it unopened. It's in a 32 oz. carton (box). Can I bring this on with me? Will they give me trouble? Do I need to put the bottles also in ziplocs? Any help would be appreciated.

The pre-filled baby bottles as well as an ice pack to keep them cool will be fine and don't have to be in a ziplock. You need to "declare" them to the TSA agent, take them out of your bag and show the TSA agent what you have and why and don't try and slide them through the conveyor in your bag.

Unfortunately, I doubt that the 32 oz container will be allowed as the wording on formula and milk is an amount that is reasonable for the length of travel. So I would bring enough bottles for the flight plus a couple extra for delays and plan to purchase more when you arrive.

The link Wendy provided above is your best resource but remember that "a reasonable amount" is subject to interpretation by the agent. Some folks on the family board have reported being able to bring large amounts of formula while others have been limited.

In any case I would have a back up plan - if your child can drink juice then you can purchase that after you clear security and bring on as much as you like.
