carry on, empty bottle??

DH and I are taking a quicky trip next week, we are only taking carry on luggage which means we have to do the 3-1-1 rule with our stuff. My small hairspray bottle is 4 oz.....so I know I can only have 3 oz. Can I put my hairspray into a 3 oz or less bottle and bring an empty 4 oz bottle with my sprayer on it empty to pour it into later???? I really can't go without my hairspray

I think you should be all right doing that.

I've heard of people bringing empty water bottles and filling them from fountains once they have gotten past the security check points
