Carrie Fisher suffers major heart attack and has passed

Finally saw Rogue One. The final scene made me sob in my seat. I was not prepared for that. What a wonderfully kick a** movie.

There is news going around today that Disney could get up to $50 mil in insurance resulting from Fisher's death. I know they wont but something that I wished would happen is that someone would take Debbie Reynolds film memorabilia collection (provided she didn't sell it all) and preserve it. My ideal would be a team up with the Smithsonian to create a History of Cinema museum. I imagine exhibits focusing on different genres, periods or specialties; such as Water Musicals, or minatures in movies, ect. So when I read about the potential pay out I thought using that to save and share Debbie's collection would be a great way to honor both of them.

It's confirmed. Disney had a $50 million insurance policy. Many companies do this for stars.

Yeah, I don't think Disney will be sharing the payout or looking for ways to spend it. They insure stars to offset the sad but unfortunate and very real production complications that arise when a major star dies.

Well...it's a smart business move. They didn't suffer $50 mil in damage on this movie...the next one is a bit of a mess going forward though

Maybe, maybe not. This might cause them to have to change things in this movie to be able to gracefully write her out for the next. So editing or digital effects they weren't expecting to have to do. She also obviously won't be doing press tours and media ahead of the release and she brought a lot of attention around TFA. Probably not 150 million worth but possibly not insignificant.
