We are considering two places to stay at on our trip: the Carribean Resort or the Coronado Springs Resort. Which would you reccomend?

I can offer an opinion. You will hear many. My family loves CSR.

Check out my info page below.

Good luck deciding!!

No contest for me - CSR.

1) much better pool and slide
2) newer and "fresher"
3) excellent restaurant and food court
4) better playground
5) better bus service, closer to park entrances

Of the four moderates, CBR is my least favorite.

CBR - closer to parks. Better atmosphere for kids and adults. Very gorgeous!

I love CBR.!!!!

My family and I loved CBR. I have created a web site with many photos and some information. Click on the Caribbean Beach logo below and it will take you to my site! :)

Another vote for CBR. I've stayed at both resorts more than once and just personally enjoyed the atmosphere at CBR so much more.

Those are my current options too, I was going to book CSR until I found out there are no roll aways there, so now its either CBR or YC (dont gey me wrong, we love YC, I just dont want to spens that much $$$$ right now) We stayed at CBR once and didnt really love it but may try it again.

CBR,CBR CBR!!!!!

We've stayed at both, and I like the atmosphere at CBR better. When we stayed at CSR, we stayed in Cabanas which are almost exactly like CBR, same type buildings, same room layout, white sand beaches and hammocks. You will LOVE either one.

I've stayed at both and will take CBR over CSR anyday.CSR has a very business like atmosphere with all of the conventioneers. The only thing CSR has over CBR (IMO) is the fact that the Maya Grill is located there.

:)

Coronado Springs!!!

Piglet203 and I will be staying there for the first time in May, but we love it already(thanks to SteveH's website, Buzz2001's endless info, and a lot of info that we have received here on the boards). I have stayed at the CBR and Piglet203 has stayed at the POFQ. We both feel that the CSR is the best of the moderates. Good luck on your decision and have a great time!

94 days to go!!!!!

My vote is for the CBR. We were there last year and had a wonderful time. Check out Seasprays web sight. Gosh, it makes
me want to go back right now!

Any way have fun picking the best resort for you.

Another vote for CBR! We have given CSR two tries and won't ever go back. All of our trips to CBR have been wonderful!

I stayed at the CBR about 11 and half years ago, I loved it. I am planning a trip to Disney for hopefully Jan 2003, and I am thinking of staying there again. I too have been thinking of CSR, but keep going back to CBR. I was talking to a guy in Borders book store a few years back who was going to WDW, he loved CBR too. He was offered by Disney to an upgrade to the Contemporary resort at the same cost, he turned it down. He loved the CBR and did not want to stay anywhere else.

I've stayed at both. I'd pick CBR, all the rooms were recently renovated. I was at CSR over a long weekend and just couldn't warm up to the place. The Pepper Market was expensive even before the mandatory 10% gratuity (for sit-down). I thought the grounds at CBR were nice, very tropical. I also stayed at POR (when it was Dixie Landings) and preferred it also over CSR.

and CBR is the better of the two. I thought that CSR had an awesome pool, but felt like I was staying in an apartment complex instead of a Disney resort. It was cramped and crowded and had way too many conventioneers.

On the other hand, CBR is much more laid back and quiet. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, can beat CBR's atmosphere! The buildings are colorful and cheery. The beautiful white beaches are clean and spacious (with the most comfy hammocks!). And the food court is large & has many great choices.

Go for CBR...you won't regret it! ;)

We've stayed at both X 2. We love CSR the best. We love the theme and the food court. It feels more vacation like to us.

OMG.....I wish I had a quarter for every time someone asked this question......including myself :D
AND ...... I wish I could say for sure which I like better!!
This is one of those "coin toss" questions I think.
We have stayed at both.....
IMHO...........
CSR I like the theming better....LOVE the southwest, but DD likes the tropical CBR better. DH...doesn't care.
CSR food court has a bit better quality, but more expensive. And there is that hassle of the 10% tip thing.
CBR food court is good, lots of variety, but you have to pay at each seperate station.....a hassle.
We think the pools are about equal......others will debate this. :)
CSR is newer, BUT CBR just renovated all their rooms.
CBR rooms are a bit bigger, 340 sq ft vs. 318
CBR has the main pool right next to the food court.... more convenient IMHO.
Now here are where the differences come into play for us:
CSR definitely has the BUSINESS atmosphere! any time we went to the food court or shops .....LOTS of people in business attire on cel phones walking with brief cases, etc. TOTALLY turned my DH against the place :(
If we had gone when there weren't so many convertioneers there, it would have been completely different  We went in May.
CBR has a much larger lake. We alway rent the boats and bikes, so this was a big plus!!
So for our trip coming up in June we went with CBR.

But it is really a toss up!! :D
Good luck, I am sure you will have a great time no matter where you stay :D

Your so right cindyfan. This question comes up once a day or so. It really is a toss up for any of the moderates. It all comes done to preference of the themes. When I first started coming on these boards in 2000, CSR rarely got any talk time. That is why I started to talk it up so much. It seems like there are many more CSR fans now than in the beginning. Even though it is a convention resort, it still is family orientated.

We will be spending 2 nights before our Disney Cruise at the Coronado, any advice as to where to request a room?? The resort looks huge and I'd like a room near the pool and bus transportation. We will have to pay for a cab to Animal Kingdom on the morning of the cruise because we can't use the disney buses with luggage, any idea of how far of a trip that is? Thanks for any info for all of those who have stayed there!!Also have the option of the All Star Music...think I know the answer but any preferences?? Won't be going to the parks, did that in November but will be going to Blizzard Beach. Thaks for any help!!

Buzz:

I know exactly what you mean about wanting to talk about your favorite resort! A year ago when I was planning my trip, DH and I fell in love with the pictures of CBR and booked our stay for there. Well at that time, CBR was getting the worst reviews!!!!! I still decided I liked the theming of CBR the best, so we were going to stay there no matter what. Then the rooms at CBR got refurbished and a lot of the older CBR fans started speaking up more, so now there are a few of us who still like to tell others what a great resort it is, just like you do with CSR :)

I honestly think all of the moderates are nice, and like you said, a lot depends on which theme you like best. After that, it is good to find out the little details of the resorts so you can be sure you've made the right decision, and with sites like yours and mine, we give the new members, and even old members who haven't stayed at these resorts before, a good idea of what the resorts are really like! :)
