kritters4 - CSR is very close to AK. 10 mins if that. Blizzard Beach is across the street from CSR. Bus service is like every 10 minutes. It is the bus that serves AK. As far as the room goes, check out my site to read what buildings are close to what. Cabanas are a popular choice for closeness to the pool. Ranchos for the ones looking for peace and quiet (furthest out) and the casitas are also nice but house the majority of the convention guests.

I have stayed in every WDW resort but GF and Disney Institute which is now closed. I love them all, they all have their own theme and flavor. I have stayed at CSR many times, the most recent stay was in Dec. We love this resort and do not mind nor have we ever been bothered by the convention groups. But for my upcoming trip in May I will be staying at ASMu for 4 nights (I will be one of those "business people"--I am attending a seminar in Orlando and my employer is paying for the room, so they wanted a reasonable rate and I wanted a WDW room so ASMu works for both of us!) BWV for 5 nights ( I am a DVC member and will be staying on my DVC points) and then for the last 3 nights I had a choice of either CSR or CBR--I picked CBR because I have not been there in about 5 yrs and I have stayed at CSR so many times. It is not that one resort is better than the other it is just that I want a change. IMHO, all WDW resorts are great, you can't go wrong with whichever one you pick. Just decide which theming would appeal to you the most and go for it.
