Carribean Beach Standard Room Question

I am staying at Caribbean Beach for the first time and all that is available is a standard room. I am okay with this, but I am worried that my view will be of the parking lot. Do the standard rooms generally look out on the grounds? Or are there parking lot views?

Also, are all of the rooms in South Trinidad Pirate themed? Or, is there a chance I will be stuck way out there?

Standard looks everywhere but the lake or pools. And it is not a big deal. You are maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes to the quiet pool in your resort or to the lake. I doubt seriously that you will even look out the window of your room except to see if it is raining or not. We always book standard. Enjoy your stay.

And you might get lucky. The last two times I booked Standard, we got upgraded without even being told. At CBR, we got a room that overlooked a quiet pool. And at POR, we got one that overlooked one of their courtyards and beautiful fountains. So you never know.

Yup, last year we booked a King Standard and got King Preferred in Trinidad North. Still, we had people walking by our room and rarely had the curtain open to look out.

Trinidad South is all pirate rooms, so no worry there. Standard rooms have a view of anything but the lake or a pool. On most of our stays there we have looked into a courtyard, which I like. But as a PP noted, its really unimportant. Your curtains will be closed for privacy anyway. You only notice the view for a few seconds as you exit your room enroute to wherever.

In a moderate resort there is no private balcony or even chairs outside your room to sit & enjoy the view. I don't feel as if there is enough value to justify the extra cost for a water/pool view.

Agree with the others. Our views have always been of a courtyard as well, however there are lots of rooms that face the parking lot. I'm one who likes to have the curtains open for sun, and on our last trip we were lucky enough to have a corner room with two windows. But even still, I find we need to keep the curtains shut for privacy with everyone walking by.

We had a standard room last week and had a garden view. It was very nice.

Scroll down and you will see specific info on standard rooms and the image of the online check in request page. Maybe it will help you make solid requests for your reservation. Oh and if offered an "upgrade to themed Pirates" as many have been offered, tell them NO.

Our standard room was overlooking the courtyard. But what I liked best is the bus stop was right by our building:)
