Carribean beach best locations??

Hi everyone, being this resort is so large, can anyone tell me which "Islands" are closest to Old Port Royale food court and Pool area? Judging the map, it appears to be Trinidad South or Martinique? Please feel free to share which location you have stayed and how you felt the distance was to the main pool/food area... Thanks in advance!!!

We've stayed in Martinique twice, once in building 26 and once in building 25. Both are very close to the food court and main pool -- maybe a two-minute stroll? If I stayed at CB again, I would definitely request those two buildings.

FYI; Martinique Bldg 24, 25 and 26 are all preferred rooms, as well as Trinidad North, Trinidad South is not close. You will have to pay extra for the preferred buildings. Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 are about a 5 minute walk and are in a very good location, if you do not want to pay for preferred.

We are huge fans of Jamaica- we have stayed there twice. It is quiet with a great pool that was never too noisy. It is a quick 4 minute walk across the bridge to Old Port Royale. It is a 1 minute walk to the bus stop which is near the entrance to the main road. Request building 43 or 44 pool/beach side. We did this last time and literally walked out our door to get into the pool.

I would book preferred. No way would I ever again book standard and ask for Jamaica. I'm not sure how so many posters make the walk to the main building so quickly, we sure didn't.

We requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 on our last trip, and ended up in Jamaica 46 which was just behind 45. Turns out there weren't any king rooms in Jamaica 45. You should request specific building numbers, because even within each "island", some buildings are closer than others and there can be a long walk even in between buildings.

Our room in Jamaica 46 was good for proximity to the main pool and food court - it was over the bridge, around the curvy path of Caribbean Cay, and then through the courtyard area by the main pool. We did find it confusing since our room was towards the back by the parking lot - lots of twisting paths and we could never get our bearings. At check-in, we had our luggage with us and were told we should take the internal shuttle to our room and have bell services deliver our bags (bags not allowed on the internal shuttle). We needed our bags right away so we opted to walk, against the warnings of the front desk CM. It was a big mistake - a good 20 minute walk rolling a suitcase. Thought my arm would fall off! Only downside of the location I guess.

So I just called disney to upgrade to a preferred room at building 25 and 26 in Martinique but they can't book 5 people in any preferred rooms which I thought was silly so I requested Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51, Thanks guys!

Yeah, they won't open them up for parties of 5 until they complete the refurb on all the preferred rooms. There are 6 preferred buildings and they have 4 of them completed. They have started on the 5th.

There is not much of a difference to me. Have stayed in Jamaica and loved it. Just a short jaunt across the foot bridge to the food court and main pool. No resort is more than a 7 minute walk to the food court.
