I had heard that there are carriage rides at Port Orleans, but am having a hard time finding much information. Has anyone ever done this? Is it something you would recommend? I'm curious on the cost, when they are offered and how long a ride it is. Oh, and where I would call to reserve this. Any info would be much appreciated!!:D

Hi - The phone # to call is 407-824-2734 You'll speak directly to the gentleman who runs the carriage service - it is not a call to Disney. A private carriage ride is $30 and seats 5 (I think). They will have alternating nights for the carriage ride because Halloween Hayrides will be offered from FW @ Pioneer Hall. The Halloween rides will determine the availability of the carriage rides. My understanding is that the Halloween Hayrides are a first come first serve thing and the carriage rides are private and reserved. It's something we're considering too - sounds fun!! Give them a call since my info may not be right on. Hope this helps! :p

Thank you! I will give them a call. I thought it sounded fun and its something we've never done at Disney before.:bounce:

My wife and I did this when we stayed at POR. I believe it was $30 bucks and around 30 minutes long. It was a nice thing to do since it was a beautiful night. I make ressies right at the information desk in the lobby the day I wanted to do it but there was only 2 spots open for that night,so if you have a definate night and time you want to do it I would call ahead. You meet the carraige right outside the lobby on the harbor sideIt was fun and I say do it because it will create another Disney memory.

Have Fun

Can you please tell me how far in advance I can reserve this?

That I have no clue. I would guess like 90 days. But I would only worry about reserving one that far in advance if you were going during one of the extremely busy holiday times. Like I said earlier I did my reservation the same day that I did it with no problem. Im sure if you called a month in advance you would get what you want.

When you called and reserved, do you need to give CC? Or do you pay when the ride is over?

I booked a carriage ride last week for October 25th. You have to give a cc # to hold the reservation, but you pay the driver in cash as they do not accept cc's. This is surprise for DH as it is the night before our wedding anniversary. I thinks it will be so romantic.

My wedding anniversary is Oct 25! I hope you have a wonderful anniversary celebration. I'm sure your husband will love the carriage ride!

DW, DS(5 month old) and I did this on our Jan 03 trip. I agree with Southtown, do it! We too made ressies once we got there, but a couple of days in advance. We actually made it the last thing we did at WDW before going back to the room to pack for the trip home. It was quite interesting to see the driver fit the carriage through the narrow streets of PO-FQ. Not sure if the ride goes there if FQ is closed.
