Has anyone taken the carriage ride at POR? How long is the ride and is it worth the extra $?

Yes, for us , it was definatley worth the money.
It was about a 25/30 min ride around the resort and over to POFQ.
My kids loved it too. ( Their were 5 of us).
Relaxing and beautiful. A nice break from all the noise.
I think it was $30.00.
If you can find the time , try it at nighttime ( we were the last ride of the night).
Enjoy your trip!:thumbsup2

We took it 2 years ago, and will be doing it again in just about 1 week. It is wonderful, and imo, is worth the money.

When can you book the carriage rides? I'm interested in the one at Ft. Wilderness for Christmas.

We did this on our past May trip and we all loved it!! My 6yr dd and inlaws all went. I made a ressie for it but I don't think you need to cause they were always standing there ready for someone to ride. It was so pretty! I got a lot of good video! This was one of our favorite things. We did it @ 5:15 and it lasted about 30 mins. I don't know how cold it will be when you go, but we loved renting the kayaks too!
Have fun and don't forget to go see "Bob" in the River Roost lounge. We are making a special trip just to see him in August. A must see and the kids love it!!

I believe it's $35 now, and I would book it ahead through 407 WDW-PLAY. We did the carriage tour for my birthday in 2004 with Becky and Ike and a bottle of champagne!

A bottle of something would be nice. We are not too big on champagne, but maybe some nice wine. Thank you for responding.:woohoo:

I am interested in doing this when we are there on our Honeymoon in Oct. 2008! Is it $35 a person? Is it something romantic for us Honeymooners?!:bride:

Is it $35 a person?

I'd love to know too! Also, if you only have 2 people in your party (I'm not going to be on my honeymoon lol, just a mother daughter trip), will they put other people in the carriage to fill it up? Probably a silly question, but figured I'd ask lol.

We did the carriage ride at FW for our 25th wedding anniv. We went after dark and they hung lanterns on the carriage. It was very romantic. They let each party ride alone--no filling up the carriage. The driver took us thru FW--it was very quiet--except for the clomping of the beautiful horse--very nice.

We just took the carriage ride just a few weeks ago. It is about a 25 minute ride for $35.00 (2 Adults/ 3 children or 4 adults). The carriage is reserved just for you and your party no one else will get to ride with you. We had ressies at 8:30 pm and it was a perfect time it was cool and very comfortable. It was beginning to get dark and the resort was beautiful at night. I highly recommend it, very romantic and you can bring along a drink.
