Anyone ever use carpet tiles instead of area rugs? I'm stumped for a rug under my new furniture due to size issues and we're moving in a year so I don't want to commit to something over $1,000 just to have it not work in the new house. (I haven't found my new house yet so I don't know any dimensions.) Right now I need a 10X10 rug and they are expensive!!! Part of it will be under a sectional to secure the legs of the sectional and prevent it slipping apart.

How do these tiles work? Are they adhesive backed? If so, that won't work as I have great 100yo oak wood floors and I don't want to mar them. Do the have grooves that slide them together? I found a FLOR website but no instructions. TIA!

Yes, these rug tiles are adhesive backed. I wonder if you attached them to a drop cloth or something that is the right size if that would work. Drop clothes are cheap and easily cut and hemmed. You'd get your custom size and would be able to take it with you when you moved!

We use the Flor tiles and they are great! Yes, they do adhesive on the back, but we ahven't had a problem with them on our hardwoods. You can put as much as you want. The adhesive comes in little circles. You can get away with not putting anything on the spots under the couch or any place that isn't high traffic. They'll start to slide a bit when a lot of people walk all over them, but even then it's not too bad. Well the square tiles at least. We also have circle tiles in the playroom and those slide all the time.
