Does anyone know if COP will be open on July 3rd?? I know that when this attraction was previously shut down, they were supposed to open it during peak periods. Is this still true or is it gone for good????

A couple of weeks back I remember someone saying it was opening for the Summer season over this past wekeend. I can't remember the date but the post said the date was the 20-23rd, just don't remember what day exactly.

We will be there next week as well and I hope it is open as it has been closed the last few times we have been there.

I know it is open during busy times...both times we have been at Christmas it has been open. My guess would be it would be open b/c it'll be July 4th week.

It would be the icing on my birthday trip to see CoP again!

Does anyone know why it is only open in "Summer Season" and not during the winter? It has been closed the last 2 times we have gone and I really enjoy it. Thought they were just re-doing it. Didn't realise they were opening it during Peak times. Do they have plans to open it during the Value seasons in the future?

I wonder if we can urge them to open COP for at least half a day once a week during the off season too. Our last two trips it was closed and we really miss it.

If it was open at least for a short time while we were there we would arrange our park touring to go see it while it was open.

This arrangement would keep run time on the ride low while also giving the guests that would like to see COP the chance to do so at some point during their visit.

during our trip 5/24 - 5/28. We asked a CM and they said what you all seem to be saying - "open during peak times only." I didn't ask exactly when that was because I assume it's July 4th and Holiday time. I miss COP! I hope they don't close it permanently. It's a Walt classic.

The COP was originally the General Electric Pavillon at the 1964 - 1965 New York World's Fair. I was a kid and loved it. It is trully a great classic that should not be closed. We were able to see it a couple of years ago, but it was closed when we were there last May. It's theme song (It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow) is almost as memorable as It's Small World (which was the Pepsi Pavillon in NY). Anyone have any ideas how to get Disney to open it more often?

I hope they continue keeping the Carousel of Progress open. I love visiting WDW in December, but I always miss seeing this attraction--it's classic Disney.

I didn't know the COP was only open peak season! That means we won't be able to see it in October, right? I'm bummed!
