When we were at MK in Dec, I took my hubby and kids for their first visit to CoP. "There's a great big beautiful tomorrow..." is still stuck in my 7 yo's head. Now I just read that the attraction is closed???? Is that true???? I know it wasn't a popular attraction, but that really bums me out! We looked forward to watching the attraction change as our kids (and grandkids) grow.

it is a "seasonal" attraction. it is open during the busy seasons. we were there in jan '02 and it was open because of xmas. not sure other times it is open.

HTH!

My niece has heard me talk about it, and wants to go on it "soooooooo bad!!!" - heard it is open when it's busy, so maybe we will luck out in August.

I always wonder why this attraction isn't more popular - it's really entertaining, and a great place to relax. It saddens me that it only gets "seasonal" attention anymore. This was Walt Disney's pet project, and I'm sure if he were still alive, it would have been constantly updated to reflect new technology. There will never be another Walt.:(

I love this attraction. Unfortunately, because of timing, I haven't seen it in...oh, like 16 years.

Now is the time...now is the best time...now is the best time to bring back The Carousel of Progress!

We went last August and it was open. My DD10 really feels it is one of her favorite things. My kids talk about it and sing the song all the time! BTW, the park was not really crowded the day we were there but COP was almost full when we saw it! I would say it is still a pretty popular old classic!

I love this attraction. Even my young kids last year (3 and 6) wanted to know what all that old stuff was. It was cool explaining some of it, then some was before my time. I had shared CoP with my mom ten years before, and last year I had the chance to share it with my children. I hope it will be open when I go in June.

CoP and "If You Had Wings" (RIP) are two of my all-time favorite MK attractions.

YES!!! If You Had Wings was one of my favorites when I was younger! (Well, OBVIOUSLY I was younger.)

Dare I say it? I was really disappointed in Buzz Lightyear - I thought IYHW was much more fun. But I'm trying to like Buzz, I really am.:D

DW & I were in the world last February. BLY was down for rehab, so they opened CoP - this according to a cast member. We rode it for the first time in about forever. It was great!!! I remember it from the later seventies, and they had updated some of the scenes to be a little more current. I wish it was open all of the time - I would love to take my parents on it when we go next January/February.
