We all have our favorite rides and one of mine is "The Carousel of Progress". In the travel books I have read their is no mention of the carousel. I have heard for the last few years that Disney was considering taking it away, but I haven't heard anything about it.

Does anyone know anything about this? Is it still up and running?

Welcome to the DIS!!

It is a "Seasonal" attraction, meaning that if you go during busy times (like now) it will be running but if you go in off-peak times it will likely be closed.

It's definitely open now (or was last week). I was very surprised, and told my kids we had to ride it, since I never know if it will be closed permanently. Luckily, we had smooth going, and the ride didn't stop. Because it's so old (I'm pretty sure it was the 1964 worlds fair it was made for), it breaks down often.

I was very surprised to see that the Wonders of Life Pavilion (EPCOT) will be partly open during our visit next week. The last time I saw it open was 99 during the summer.

Thanks Bob,

THis is an amazing place!, I have been on this site for the past 45 minutes and I can't seem to let myself get off and do some work.

yes - i went on it for first time two weeks ago.

it is nice and kool and dark in there - so it is good to take some time out and chill and watch the show.
