I found a rate of $59.00/ nite here and I think it looks like a good place to stay. Any opinions? Is this a pretty good rate? How is the continental b-fast here? Do any of the rooms have views of the parks? Thanks! ;)

It is a good above average motel. There are nice views of DL from the roof, and DCA from the external cooridor. The breakfast is nothing fancy, basic rolls, coffee juice etc. For that rate i would go for it!

Thanks! We were considering using the AP rate at DLH or GCH (don't like PPH), and we need 2 rooms...this will save me $1100.00 off the GCH, and about $550.00 over DLH. I really wanted to stay onsite, but it's not worth that much, especially since we can't even get Early Enrty since we have AP's. I figure that money will be better spent on better meals and extras!!! :goodvibes

The Carousel is my favorite offsite hotel. I know many people prefer the HoJo with slightly larger rooms and a nicer pool, but its just too far at the end of the day for me. Plus, they don't have breakfast. Now the breakfast at the Carousel is not much, but its enough to get us through the morning hours, then we have an early lunch. Breakfast includes toast, muffins, danish, oatmeal, fruit, coffee and juice. I've stayed at other places on Harbor, and all you get is danish and coffee, so for me this is a little upgraded.

You might consider a suite at the Carousel. I've gotten their 2 bath suite, which is a basic 2 queen bed hotel room with an additional room with 1 queen and its own bath, for $99 with AAA or Entertainment. I've also gotten a regular room for $49 with the same discount, so if you have one of those cards, you might try calling them.

The only rooms with park views are the park view suites and I'm not sure of the cost on those. However, the breakfast room is on the 5th floor and overlooks the parks. Its a great start to the day.

Have a great time and I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the Carousel.

Here are a few more details on the View Suite at The Carousel Inn and Suites
There are 3 double rooms (though only 1 bathroom) and a seating area with large “wrap around” windows looking right out towards the park, also Microwave and Fridge.

You can take a link to a virtual tour of the suite off their homepage http://www.carouselinnandsuites.com/index.asp

The rate is around $150, more than you had planned but you do get the extra space as well as the view.
