Carnival Cruises expands its cruises from Charleston, SC

Ok, so I'm officially confused about the "no passport" rule for closed loops cruises. Taken from the Carnival website: U.S. citizens taking “closed-loop” cruises are not required to have a passport, but will need proof of citizenship such as an original or certified copy of a birth certificate, a certificate of naturalization, a passport card, an enhanced driver’s license (EDL) as well as a government-issued photo ID.

So I can be really slow sometimes, but I don't know what a passport card is, I know I wouldn't need a certificate of naturalization, I have no idea what an enhanced DL is and I don't have a government issues photo ID except my drivers license.
They make it sound like you have to have all of these things in place of a passport. It sounds like it would be easier just to get the passport. HELP

You will need the certified copy of birth cert & a photo-id such as your drivers license. The other types they speak of are just different ids that can be used.
