Mods, I am sure if this is the right place or not, but I seem to get more help with my questions here instead of Cruise critic. We are taking our first cruise the end of June out of Port Canaveral. First we are going to Disney for 5 days. I am still not sure if we will be driving or flying, probably flying but I have a couple of questions. We usually do Magical Express so if we decide to do that again, will they take us back to the airport to then catch a transfer to Port Canaveral? Has anyone done this before? If so, what does a transfer to Port Canaveral run? I have already checked into parking at the port and it would run $15.00 a day, I am just trying to figure out what is easier. My son and husband hate the drive and would prefer to fly, my daughter and I don't mind so much. I have also considered taking the auto train and just meeting them down there. Any help or advice is appreciated!:goodvibes

I am going on the Carnival Dream next month out of Port Canaveral. I researched a bunch of options to go from Orlando Aiport to the hotel (we are flying in the night before) Then from the Port back to MCO the next week.

Many say to just rent a car one way each way and that it is the cheapest. It may be the cheapest but to me it is not very convenient. I don't want to mess with all of that. I did look into some suggestions on Cruise Critic and ended up booking Cocoa Beach Shuttle. Cost would be $75 each way (that is for 4 of us). So, that is not too bad and one of the cheapest I found. They have a website you can call them and see if they could pick you up at your hotel and bring you from there?

We did this a couple of years ago. We choose to rent a car. You can pick one up at a hotel and return it at the Port. It wasn't that big of an inconvience. I think it would be worse to ride although back to the airport and then catch another shuttle.

We hired a van to take us from WDW to the port, and a van to take us from the port to MCO.

Check on Carnival's website, they also offer transportation to the port and back from the airport. I've done that before when leaving from Port Canaveral -- no problems, it was quite nice.

I did, and it is $35 pp each way, so $70 x 4 = $280.00 I am thinking the shuttle van option might be better if we don't drive.

Florida Towncar and Tiffany Towncar are both reputable WDW towncar services...they also provide service to Pt Canaveral...you can get a quote for airport to wdw to port to airport....

we usually pay $125ish for airport/wdw rountrip in a van or towncar

We took a Carnival cruise after a Disney visit- the agency picked us up at Pop Century, took us to the nearest rental office, we picked up the car, drove 1 hour to Port Can. to the rental office and they shuttled us to the port. Cost was around $30 (depends on the size of the car). We booked the Carnival transfer back to MCO after the cruise. I think I booked through a bargain site that shows you all the rentals available that day so you can find the best price.
