Carnation Cafe or Cafe Orleans?

I prefer C.O. I like their eclectic menu. What we usually get is:
2 cups of french onion soup
2 Salmon salads
an order of Pomme Frites
and 2 coffees.
So delish.
So, if it were me, I would make ps. for CO.

From what I've had there, I'd go with Cafe Orleans. Loved their ratatouille!!!! And the service (until a complicated bill situation at the end) was fine.

At CC however, the food was OK and our particular server was pretty bad.

Though both times I was there with a very large group of people, and that can mess up servers. :)

My dining companions at CC said that the potato soup was REALLY heavy and rich, FYI.

Ohhhhh man, I want that Matterhorn sundae, you think they will serve it to us as dessert at breakfast? LOL

You need to check in at the podium, then you will wait off to the side. We've never had a PS at CO but we've eaten there a few times, everyone waits off to the side for their table to be ready.

Ok, thanks! :)

Yep!

It must be, oh man, 30 years now (been married 25, this was with a previous GF), but we did exactly that. Full breakfast where we each had eggs, bacon, etc. And then shared a Matterhorn sundae. Decadent! I say go for it.

I've never eaten at the Carnation Cafe, but after seeing those pics I will put it on my "to do list" next time I'm in DL.

I have eaten a few times at the Cafe Orleans and Blue Bayou...I've had good meals at both.

I've never had to do PS for Cafe Orleans (in fact, I didn't even realize they HAD PS for it), I've always just gone during off hours for lunch.

Last time I went was midweek during July (total spur of the moment trip to Disney), walked up at 2pm and got immediate seating for a meal. A few minutes after we sat down on the patio area, a live jazz band came out into the street in front of the restaurant and started playing. Totally unexpected and wonderful!

(And for those of us who can't get seat at any of these restuarants...across the tiny street from the Cafe Orleans is a counter service place that serves delicious gumbo and clam chowder in bread bowls, and mint julips!)

That's awesome!! We just might...it is a celebration after all. :) DDs turning 13! :)

The French Market, they have GREAT baked 3 cheese pasta! YUM!! You're lucky, walking up in July and getting seated right away. We did that but we had to wait for about 30 min.
