Is this fried chicken like the chicken at the Plaza Inn but without the bones? I really want to try Plaza Inn but the sides are very unappealing to me and this looks better! I'm a picky eater myself![]()
No.
Chicken-fried Chicken is uses different ingredients and different cooking process. The meat is dredged in buttermilk, then seasoned flour, then fried. If you ever had Chicken-Fried/Country-Fried/Texas-Fried Steak, it's the same process...with different meat.
While many compare the Plaza Inn chicken to traditional Southern-fried chicken, it's actually "broasted" chicken, pressure cooked in oil in special reinforced pressure cookers. Though the Boasted brand is trademarked and marketed throughout the U.S. (world?), it doesn't have a patent and is not the only one to cook chicken this way...KFC also pressure cooks their chicken.
