Caricature Artist

Since we're having a boardwalk/beach themed wedding i wanted to get some info on having a caricature artist come. I'd love for that to be our guests favors. It would be something for our guests to do while we're taking pictures after the ceremony too. Can someone help me out with this? I read it on a couple of PJ's and it seems like a really unique thing to have!

Can disney provide this? Are there outside vendors in the area that do it? Can they come to the attic to do it or does it have to be done outside the resort?

Disney can provide it or you can find an outside vendor on your own. It can be done at the Attic - adisneygal had a caricature artist at her Attic reception.

Here's what I have in my book:

A caricature artist is available for $585 for three hours, with a three-hour minimum, and $195 for each additional hour. The artist can draw 8–10 black-and-white caricatures per hour or 4 in color; an additional artist would be required for parties of more than 40 guests (based on four hours of service). Caricatures are 11x14 inches and do not include envelopes or tubes for transport.

I did some research and i think it'll be alot cheaper to get an outside vendor so i'm glad thats an option!

Also if you are interested, I know the silhouette artist who works at Disney also does wedding receptions. She does great work. I have her name and contact info. Let me know if you are interested.

The caricature artist I'm planning on having is way cheaper than $585. If you'd like his site just PM me. he quoted $400 for 3 hours including paper with our name and wedding date on it.

Here is the info on the silhouette artist. Her name is Kathryn Flocken, and her email address is: kathyart@earthlink.net and she also has a website which is www.paperportraits.com. She is excellent. Someone here on the boards awhile ago had posted her info since they had her at their. I had actually sent in some pictures to her from my daughter's wedding last year and she did some beautiful silhouettes for me which she posted on her blog. Her blog is listed I think on her website. She works at the silhouette shop in Disney on Main Street.

Are you having an Escape or Wishes wedding?
I thought you were Escape (but I am probably wrong!!!)
If so, will you only have the Attic for two hours and if these artists are minimum of three hours, how will you work this?

Nope i'm an escape! I wouldn't use the one that disney can provide for that reason... so i started looking into independent artists and i found one that has no minimums so i could hire him for just an hour. I dont know if we're definatly going to do it yet but its definatly right up there on something we'd like to do!

I am having a caricature artist. He will be coming to the Flying Fish. I am using this as the favors for my guests too. His minimum I believe is 2 hours. Here is his website: http://www.cartoonyou.net/

He can also provide the containers for your guests pictures, so you don't have to worry about carrying all that around.
