Caribe Royale Lately?

Has anyone stayed at the Caribe Royale recently? Wanted to
stay on property in December but so far no good deals so we
are thinking of staying here. We have stayed at HIFS so I know
and like the location. Any other current info appreciated.

I have to tell you that the Caribe Royale has a HORRIBLE local reputation. It's known for its high crime rate, including muggings and attacks in the parking lots. The reports are starting to get around, too. Please do yourself a favor and check out some of the warning posted at Travelocity.com by people who have stayed there.

Propchick - I just went to travelocity.com to read the reviews and although some reviews mention rude service and lack of maintenance in the rooms and no more free breakfast - there is no mention of attacks or muggings. I was under the impression you'd see that in print from your post.

Hmmm......that's very very odd. The reviews there used to include at least four different reports from people who had been mugged/robbed. I'm sorry -- I didn't realize they had been removed.

I have had a similar experience with tripadvisor.com where negative reviews have been removed. I once saw a review from someone who said that the Hyatt Grand Cypress attracted unusually stodgy clientelle, more so than other similarly priced resorts. That review was no longer there last time I looked.
