So is it the pool itself being closed and rehabbed or the entire main pool area, including the hot tub? Sorry, confused

It would be the whole area. The hot tub at CBR is in the middle of the area.

We're staying at the Poly this year but its nice to read these reviews on CBR - we almost stayed there since we're a family of 5 (1 under 3) due to the bigger rooms in the moderate range. I keep thinking we should switch but I think we'll stay where we're at as I've driven our TA crazy (she would never admit that thought ) I just love the idea of so many quiet pools (like POR), the theme, the pirate pool, Parrot Cay island. I dunno theres just something about it - I'd love to stay there.

Well, now....after reading this report......I think a stay at CBR is in order in the future. I really never wanted to stay there, but now I will! Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks for the review! We're going to CBR in just over a month - woo hoo! We can't wait to experience it ourselves. Would you mind telling me about the main pool - is it worn out looking, dirty, etc.? Just curious and want to be prepared if it's really rundown. THANKS!

So glad you loved CBR!!

In the early '80's we only stayed at Poly or CR (all that existed other than The Golf Resort) so when CBR opened (Oct '88, a few months after the GF opened) we decided to give it a try - we were nervous at first because we were so used to a deluxe, but like you, we absolutely loved it and stayed there for a few years every trip.

Eventually, we had to try other Resorts and finally made it back to CBR in 2006 - it was all I remembered, except I missed the original restaurant (seating for the food court is there now), missed the Bob Marley music and the rocking chairs on the porch. Still, it is so beautiful and relaxing - a vacation within a vacation, much the same as the Poly.

Gee, I'm going to have to go back again soon!
