Can one walk from Caribbean Beach Resort to Hollywood Studios and to Epcot? Where are the paths and which buildings would be closest to the paths

Thanking you in advance

No, you can not walk from CBR to any parks safely. But CBR is VERY close to both parks. It's a 3 minute bus ride to DHS and 5 to Epcot.

Well, first of all, YES you can. The question is whether you'd WANT to.

Personally I'd be willing to try it, but it's up to you. There is a sidewalk. You'd have to walk across the grass behind the Aruba section to the road, then there are crosswalks (with stoplights and walk/don't walk signs) and a sidewalk leading to both Epcot (via the Boardwalk) and the Studios. The sidewalks are set 10-12 feet back from the road but the speed limit on that road is 45 mph. I would say Disney clearly intends it to be possible or they wouldn't have put in the sidewalks (by the way if you do "street view" on Google Maps, you can see someone doing it!). But it's up to you whether you feel the road is safe.

There have been at least 3 other threads asking the same question this week, one of them mine. Here's one showing a map:

I've asked this question on a few different boards. I'm going for it in 2 weeks. I'm hoping to stay in Aruba. Then, it looks like there's a short walk across some grass and then a sidewalk. When you cross Buena Vista, there's a crosswalk, so it looks totally safe. I'm actually contemplating walking to the World Showcase entrance of Epcot. I really think it can be done if you are a walker.

The funny thing is the responses you get to this question are complete opposites.
#1: No, there's no way you can do it.
#2: Sure you can.

So, who knows? When I get back, I'll let you know how it was.:)

I'll be interested to know. We're only able to afford AKL this time because it's our second trip in a year so we bought APs last time--if we needed tickets, we'd have stayed at a mod (plus of course we got the AP rate). We stayed at POFQ last time (and liked it) but if we could walk to/from half the parks, that would move CBR to the top of the list (even though MK and AK are our favorites).

I had wanted to request Aruba anyway for sentimental reasons--my family could only ever afford to take us twice as kids and only once on-property, and we stayed in the Aruba section of CBR, back when the mods (CBR, Port Orleans, and Dixie Landings ;) ) were first built. Got a free upgrade to water view, too, from what was called at the time parking lot view. (Back when Disney was more honest and didn't call parking-lot views "standard view.")

Thanks TillyMarigold

rubato - I would very much appreciate the update when you return!

I will not be walking with children. Small children might change the logistics of the walk. But we will be 3 healthy adults - can step briskly across that road!

Everywhere is within walking distance of all the resorts. It just might take a little longer to get to your destination.

Is there a back entrance or something? From CBR, wouldn't you still have to walk through the entire parking lot to get to the park entrance? The buses would have to be much faster.:confused3 Or I guess you could walk to the Boardwalk then take the walking path to DHS. We've done that and it definitely takes a while.

We did this walk last April and some great advice is when you cross the highway, make sure you walk really FAST. I swear the light stayed red for about 5 seconds and it seemed like a 6 or 8-lane highway. We barely made it across and we are not slow walkers. Otherwise, the rest of the route was fine, though we did decide to take the bus back.....

I hope everything goes well for your walk. I sure don't recommend walking. Drivers down here are not accustomed to seeing walkers. The bus transportation would get you there safely.

What is the reason for walking over taking the bus? Maybe I am missing something. It just seems very dangerous to me.

Is it really that fast getting to those parks from CBR?

Yes, it is. I timed all the rides from CBR once the bus left the resort. 3 minutes to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to MK & AK.

Now that is not including the time you may have to wait on a bus. Or the time you maybe be on the bus prior to leaving the resort. That is the time it takes from the last stop at CBR to being let off at the parks.

I definitely wouldn't walk it. Too dangerous. Yes, you can walk anywhere, but that doesn't mean that you should. If it were meant to be walked then Disney would probably advertise it. Like they do with the BC/YC/BW being within walking distance of Epcot. Or the Contemporary being within walking distance of MK.

I haven't stayed at CBR yet but we may in June for Star Wars Weekends. I looked at the resort map just this morning and wow--CBR is right next to DHS. That's why we are thinking of staying there. Looks like you turn left out of CBR, then your next left would be DHS (Epcot is right across the road.)

You would walk from CBR to the Boardwalk, through Boardwalk, then enter Epcot at the International Gateway.

I *think* you could walk to the Studios without having to walk to the Boardwalk first. The path from CBR, if you don't turn at the Boardwalk, intersects the path you'd use to walk from Boardwalk to the Studios or vice-versa. It looks like they meet up right by that bridge you walk under.

Drivers aren't accustomed to seeing walkers anywhere, but it seems improbable that drivers would accidentally jump the curb and drive straight off the road and over the sidewalk 10-12 feet away at the exact moment you happened to be standing there. Looks *much* safer than sidewalks around here.

Why not walk? Geez, you'd think humanity hadn't spent millions of years doing it before buses were invented barely over a century ago. To be out in the sunshine. To not have to be crammed in a bus. To go when you want instead of relying on the bus (and it's free!). To see Disney from a different angle. To not get all freezing cold in the air conditioning. To be able to focus on your surroundings rather than on not falling over the stroller blocking the aisle. To use your legs. To put a dent in all the calories you've consumed or will consume.

I wouldn't advocate for walking just anywhere on property, but since Disney has gone to the trouble of installing a sidewalk from CBR to Epcot and the Studios, clearly Disney considers it walkable. I mean, the sidewalk ends at that intersection; it doesn't go anywhere else but from CBR to the Boardwalk and to the Studios. So clearly it is meant to be possible to do so.

Google maps says the walking distance is .5 miles along Buena Vista Dr. to where there's the bridge you'd go under to get to the Studios. I would guess, based on that distance, a bit over .5 miles to the Studios, and about .75 miles to Epcot.

Playing with it, I managed to drag it to get a better estimate, but I could only drag it along the road, not along the walking paths. But I got .8 miles from that intersection to the Studios, and 1 mile from that intersection to the International Gateway.
