HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP, WE ARE STAYING AT THE C.B.R AND WERE WONDERING WHICH ISLAND WAS THE BEST LOCATION, WE ARE THERE FOR 3 WEEKS AND AS WE'LL BE BE WALKING ALL DAY WE DON'T WANT A TREK WHEN WE GET BACK TO THE RESORT :car:

You will have some walking no matter where you are there.

As long as you're room is not in "Trinidad South", you won't have too much walking to do. The other "islands" are not too far. We stayed in Aruba 54 last year & it was a quick walk over the bridge to the main building.

We stayed in martinique a couple of years ago and it sememd pretty close to the main foodcourt/shop and everything.

Jamaica 45 is a nice and short walk over the bridge. It is not a perferred room.

:) We stayed in Martinique. It was a short walk to everything.

You started another thread asking about upgrades, so I'll answer both questions here.

CBR's guest rooms are in 6 villages, each village named for a Caribbean island. Each village has 6 buildings, except for Trinidad North which has 3 buildings. Even the word "building" is a misnomer, as each numbered building is comprised of about 4 buildings that are connected by 2nd-floor walkways.

At CBR, there are only three possible "upgrades" that you can pay for, and believe it or not you can only pay for one of them, you can't pay for two or three of them at a time. These upgrades are "preferred location," water view, and king size bed. If you pay for one of these upgrades, it is between $15-$26 extra per night, depending on season.

Preferred location is a room in one of the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale, the central complex that has the food court, table-service restaurant, main pool, outdoor bar, etc. These buildings are half of the buildings in Martinique (24, 25 and 26) and all of the buildings in Trinidad North (31, 32 and 33). These buildings have the shortest walk to and from OPR. CBR is a large resort, so this is a nice perk if you want to guarantee as little walking within the resort as possible.

Water view means the room has a view of the lake OR a view of a quiet pool. There's no way to guarantee whether it will be of lake or pool. Every village has many rooms that are water view, because part of each village fronts on the lake, and each village has its own quiet pool.

King size bed is pretty self-explanatory. There aren't that many of them, but they are sprinkled throughout the resort pretty randomly.

Like I said earlier, you can't pay for two upgrades at a time. And since you can only GUARANTEE it by paying for it, you can only GUARANTEE one of those upgrades. You have to choose which one you want the most, and pay for/reserve it, and then REQUEST the other(s).

Let me try to talk you out of bothering with water view. At all 4 of Disney's "moderate" resorts, the doors and windows open onto exterior corridors. These walkways are between your window and what you want to view out that window. You'll have to have your curtains wide open to enjoy your view, and if you do that then everyone walking by has a great view of YOU.

There are plenty of water view rooms in preferred location buildings. People in those rooms got a free upgrade for one of those two amenities, because, like I said, you can't pay for and receive both. I'll bed one or two of those rooms also has a king size bed, so those people hit the trifecta and got 2 free upgrades.

So choose what you want the most (and I would recommend choosing between a honeymoon king size bed and 3 weeks' worth of shorter walks), pay for/reserve it, put in a request for the other, make sure it's on your reservation that it's your honeymoon, and hope for the best.

CBR is a lovely place. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. I hope it's as happy as mine. 15.5 years later I'm still in love with my bride, and I still take her to WDW on occasion!:woohoo:

I think Martinique & Trinidad North are the best locations :thumbsup2

Jamaica 45 is a nice and short walk over the bridge. It is not a perferred room.

I second that. We were there for two weeks a couple years ago and loved this location. Never felt the need to use the bus around the resort, and it's actually a very quick but relaxing walk across the bridge to the foodcourt and shopping area and the main pool.

We stayed at the CRB last may and I agree that Jamaica 45 or close by is the best location. Not only is it a short walk to the pool and dining area but Jamaica is usually the first stop to be picked up and the first stop on the way back. :cool1:
Enjoy your trip!

I stayed at this place a while back, I must say I was quite disappointed, it certainly is the weakest of the mod resorts IMHO. We had a free upgrade to a king bed room, why it is considered an upgrade I will never know, personally 2 queens have more sleeping space than one king, push them together and have a super mega king if your that bothered. I found the rooms to be a little tired and dark. The bus service was appauling I spent all my time whinging to th DW about this and vowed to stay on the monorail on our next stay because of the misery I had suffered, a threat I carried staying at the GF on our next stay. The place is massive and the potential distances that are to be walked are huge, If you are at one of the outlying areas of the resort forget buying the refiullable mugs, you will never use them as the walk to the only refill station could be up to twenty minutes walk away. Probably the resort I am least likely to return to out of any on property.

We stayed in aruba and found we were in the middle of the bus stop on one side and the bridge to the food court on the other it was a short walk to either. I thought the location was great and I liked the fact they had a small van bring us to our room the day we arrived and they picked us up when we left with all our luggage at 4:20am. Nice service....

We stayed at CBR in 2004 and got Martinique, Building 25. A short walk to the main pool, food court and bus stop. Long walk to the front desk and parrot cay.

There seems to be a fair amount of discussion about your question here but if you want even more imput, I suggest you ask your question on the Disney Resorts board.

Another vote for Jamaica 45 or if you can't get that, try Aruba 51 which is right next door to Jamaica 45 and is also not a preferred.
