I've stayed at coronodo before and loved it, but never at CBR , and the only room left is pirate themed.....where do you suggest staying?

I stayed at Coronado before and loved it. Caribbean beach is also very nice. Like Coronado is it HUGE! I have never stayed in the pirate rooms but they are located quite a distance away from the food court and main pool. When we stayed we were in Trinidad north and payed preferred so we were close. If you don't mind the distance the pirate room sounds fun.

The one thing I liked better at Coronado was the air conditioning. The ac at Coronado was more like home and is the central type air conditioning. The ac at caribbean is the unit type and it can be a little loud.

Whenever these type of threads come up, I always choose CSR...As our favorite Mod...I'm sure you'll like CBR, How can you not ...It's Disney..It's just that CSR you get a lot more:

From the comfy Queen Beds, CBR -Full
To the Maya Grill
Awesome feature pool
Ginormous Hot tub.....Biggest on Property
Health Spa....

There's plenty more but as you can tell we love CSR..
:woohoo:

I've never stayed at CSR, but we stayed at CBR in a pirate room two years ago and it was really fun! The theming of the room was great, and I didn't really notice it being that far from the entrance or food court. I loved that even the carpet was themed to look like the floor of a ship. It really was delightful. We loved the actual resort theming too, it was great, reminded me of Puerto Rico, in a Disney way. However, we are 'sleep and sometimes eat breakfast at the resort and spend the rest of the time at the parks' people, so YMMV. :)

Honestly, I would not recommend staying out in the pirate rooms. While the rooms themselves are really neat and themed well, I have to disagree with the previous poster--we found Trinidad South very, very far from the food court and pool. it was at least a 10+minute walk, which sure, isn't terrible, but it got old pretty quickly.

The resort is just huge, and we weren't impressed with the bus service, either.

Don't get me wrong--it is not a terrible place. But I think it would have been a lot more pleasant for us if we'd been in an island area closer to the food court. The pirate rooms are just far--and you're paying a premium for them. So in your situation I would go with CSR and wouldn't hesitate.

I don't think I would stay in a pirate room at CBR. Not only are they in the worst location of the resort (which is kind of why they themed them, to make people want to stay there!) they don't have normal beds. Normal mattresses wouldn't fit in the ship-shaped bed, so it is more like a box spring, and that is it.

CSR would get my vote. Queen sized beds, outstanding bus service, and 3 fewer bus stops that CBR.

I've stayed in the pirate rooms last may and thought it was a fun themed room. The beds were comfortable, the dressers are crates,, and the fridge is hidden inside a barrel. The floor is made to look like wooden planks & the curtian separating the room & bathroom area had a pirate skull. The walk was not bad, 6-8 min and we did that with our 3.5 yr old & I was 4 months pregnant.
