We are looking at the CBR map..if we request smoking which area will we be placed in, and are these rooms any less nice than/smaller than others?

Are there ANY with a jacuzzi tub in room? lol.

Going mid May and cannot wait!!!

The only smoking building is building 51. It is exactualy the same as all the other areas. No differance in room type, or size or anything like that. No sorry at CBR there no jacuzzis in the rooms

The smoking building is 51. All the rooms are the same size. They are the largest size wise of all the moderates.

Okay, this is an odd question but I wanted to make sure of something. We will be staying at BWV's on our next trip but I still want to go over to the CBR to get my "fix" for a day. Even though we're staying at a different resort, can we rent the surrey bikes or run the water mice at the CBR? We plan on taking a few hours to hang out for awhile, plus I have to pick up my orange tree and coconut postcard!! ;)

When I was there last year they sold mini palm and mini orange trees. I bought the mini palm but now I want the mini orange! I don't know if anyone on this thread has one. I'm not sure how tall they're supposed to get!

How did you transport it? I mean, how tall was it when you bought it? :) These sound too neat.

Yes you can still use the water mice and surrey bikes at CBR!

Just curious where you got the orange tree though? I stayed at CBR in Oct 2004 and Jan 2005 and I did not see any orange trees (the mini ones with mickey on the box) there or at DTD...really wanted to pick one up for my grandmother, but to the best of my knowledge Disney does not carry them anymore or at the moment! Side note to add I did find a gift shop at the airport that was selling similar mini orange trees/lemon trees/ and a few other mini trees/plants.

We were there last year at this time (March 1-8th) and they had them on the shelves by the cash register in the gift area as you walk in the main door. I really hope they are still selling them! Maybe someone going down soon can confirm if they are still there, moved, just out, etc.

Where in the airport did you see them? I thought on our last trip I hit every gift shop there! ;)

There is a Florida shop at the airport that I think sells them. I know I have seen them there in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks, at least I'll have a back-up if CBR isn't selling them any longer! :sunny:

Skyhawk and Saftey Mom: Thanks for that info. Bldg. 51 looks like a great area. I'd sure love to that view of parrot cay island.

Happy to hear they have the best size out of the Mods. This property really just looks fantastic from all the pictures and 360 views...those are the best!

My wife and I were at CBR in February. I had asked for a smoking room at Aruba with my reservation. When we got there, Aruba was already filled up, so they gave us a room in Trinidad North which was supposed to be $15.00 a night more, but they did not charge us that extra fee, so we were happy. We were at WDW in June of last year and spent 14 nights at the Holiday INN Westgate in a kids suite. CBR was more deluxe than the Holiday INN, except it did not have a micrwave. CBR is so convenient to Epcot and MGM that it only took us 5 minutes to get to MGM and 7 minutes to get to Epcot. We are both in our mid sixties, and we are not used to walking too far. We found that if you went to t6he park early, sometimes we could walk to the entrance rather than take a tram. I videotaped Illuminations twice while I was there this trip, and found that when you go in the parking lot a couple hours before closing, you can just about pick any parking spot in the lot, because you are not being directed. We did this both nights I taped, and we got into the first two rows of parking closest to the entrance, and we were among the first to get out of there when it closed.

Hi. I will be staying at CBR in May and booked the 8:30 Keys to The Kingdom Tour. Will the buses be running in time for us to get there 15 mins. before the tour starts???

Sorry GOOfyDad...somehow I missed your question. They are only several inches tall. I carried mine with me on the plane just to be safe. If I remember correctly they are in a clear plastic bag and have instructions. The first thing I did when I got home was to get a bigger container to repot it. The little pots they use are seedling sized! Definitely try to find them when you go!

Sorry I am in ATL on a business trip. I would ask on the transportation board about how the busses run for the early tours. I am sure Chip and
Dale Express will answer.

Safetymom, thanks for refering me here. It took me a couple days to read both of them, but now I absolutely sure this is the hotel we want to stay in. I just have a couple of questions.

1. I saw on some of the earlier posts that some rooms had problems with mold. As one of my sons is alerigic, this could be a big problem. Do they still seem to have this problem in some of the rooms, or should I not worry about it.

2. I love the idea of the coconut postcards, but how much does it actually cost to mail it? I think my niece in Il would really get a kick if we sent her one!

3. We are planning on going the second week of April, but I havent booked it yet. I was planning on using AAA, but would there be someplace better to book and get a better rate?

Thank you for all your hard work! It is truely impressive how much you know, and you never seem to get too upset when people keep asking the same questions over!

I don't think you will have any problems with mold. If there is a problem when you get there I am sure they will move you.

At one time they had express mail stickers on the coconuts but not sure of the cost.

At this point AAA will give you the best discount.

Do the rooms have a fan (either in bathroom or elsewhere) that you can turn on for "white noise"?? Everyone in my family sleeps better with a little background noise!
