Yes, you just go to the desk and check, they will give you your tickets. If your room is not ready, they will tell you when to call to back to get your room #.
We plan on doing the same thing, but heading to AK.

We are driving- and will surely get to CBR before our room is ready.... will we be able to get our tickets, etc. before our room is ready? We were hoping to spend the afternoon at Magic Kingdom!

Just a simple question, which bus stop is considered the first stop, and the last stop. Are they different in the morning and at night?

I stayed at CBR 3 times. 2 of those 3 were last year. Each time last year I arrived around 10am. The first time we stayed at CBR, the room wasn't ready until after 5pm. So when we stayed there the last 2 times, I asked the person who checked me in, if they would be able to find a room that was available right away. Each time, they were able! The one trip we were in a preferred bld, the next time it was Jamaica. Jamaica was my favorite!

As for luggage carts, I've never seen any except at the building where you first check in, and that's pretty far from where the rooms are.

I would imagine that there aren't luggage carts, especially as there are no elevators either and having a cart when your room is on the 2nd floor would be fairly useless.

Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney buses start at Martinique, and from there go clockwise to Old Port Royale, Trinidad North, Trinidad South, Jamaica, Aruba and then finally Barbados before heading to either MK or DTD.

Epcot, MGM and Animal Kingdom buses start at Jamaica, and from there go to Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, OPR, Trinidad North and then finally Trinidad South before heading to Epcot, MGM or AK.

Ok, silly question. I have been viewing a resort room picture thread and I saw pictures of CBR. It looked like they dont give you the Mickey shampoo and soap at CBR. :sad1: Please tell me this is not true?

Does anyone have the link from Microsoft Live Search of that great aerial view of CBR? When I do my own search for it I can't find it anywhere. I wanted to show the kids I nanny for- it was such a cool shot! Also it would be helpful to a lot of people on this thread since it shows the actual size of the resort, kinda. lol. Anyone have it out there?

Thanks for your reply. Don't know why it matters, just wanted to know.

I'm happy to help.

The funny thing is, I've stayed at CBR twice and NEVER noticed this pattern. I thought the buses randomly started at either Martinique or Jamaica. But there's a current Disney Transport driver who posts here on the DIS, and he is the one who identified this exact procedure. I just reported what I read from him.

:disrocks:

It's been since my honeymmon since we where at the CBR so I can't remember.

Does CBR have music pumped thru the pomenade? I sort of remeber it having that but I could be thinking of the Poly also.:confused3

I just read all 98 pages in one sitting and I am exhausted, lol. I wish it was December already!!!

DH is in Afghanistan and nearing the end of a 16 month deployment. I am trying to get in touch with him via email but haven't had any luck yet.

If you had to choose between a Preferred location OR a King bed what would you do? I assume 99% of you will say Preferred location? When I first talked with my TA I told her I wanted a King Bed in a Preferred location and she booked the King Bed without telling me that I would get one or the other (guaranteed with an extra cost per night). I was aware that it was $15 more per night but after reading the entire thread I am leaning toward the Preferred Location over the King Bed.

Our ressies aren't until 12/22/07 so if DH wants to go with the preferred location do you think it will be available this far out? I feel like I will be a pain in the butt to my TA if I ask her to change it but still want the change.

I told DH that we booked the POP and went with the CBR as a surprise. I also am telling him that we have an ADR for lunch on our arrival day so that he doesn't get suspicious as we enter the CBR.

I just want to make this vacation special for him after being deployed for 16 months, you know? We only spent 2 weeks together during this deployment too so this will be a great chance for us to reconnect.

I know I am all over the place and I am sorry about that. I don't feel very well today and I've been on this thread non-stop for 6 hours now.

Thanks for listening.

Missie :thumbsup2

First, thank you and your husband for all you have done for our country. You don't receive enough credit for what you do for all of us.

We would go for the Kingsize bed before we would ask for preferred location. The walk at the resort to us, is very peaceful. Just a question have you considered the Shades of Green Resort? You can get great rates at a deluxe style resort.:thumbsup2

It also doesn't hurt to mention that your husband is coming back from deployment and you would like to make this a special trip for him. Ask that this be included on your reservation and request form. Disney is good (when they can) in accomodating special people like your husband.

Cinderella Mom- We are going to CBR in October. We went back and forth between POFQ and CBR and decided to try CBR. POFW is a beautiful little resort, and my DGD has proclaimed it her favorite. I hope that she enjoys trying another. The transportation between the Custom House and the Islands is our concern and i appreciate your perspective on it.

I am all for trying them all. We really had a great time and the resort is beautiful. I just prefer the convenience of the smaller resort.

We were there in March and it was different -- round cakes of soap with an impression of Mickey on the soap -- shampoo was a plainer bottle design with Mickey on the label... same shampoo though. Soap was different, but at least it had the imprint of Mickey's face on it. But that was in March -- April could have been different.

Thanks everyone! :goodvibes
I saw what looked like green bottles in the bathroom.

Hi, Can someone tell me why the preferred locations are "preferred"... Looking on the map they seem so far away.... ?

Thanks all.

That's the new H2O product line. Not bad.:thumbsup2

except it is my understanding that it contains shea butter which can cause an allergic reaction in people with peanut/tree nut allergies... some of the other products also contain hazlenut oil...

and because of this, we'll be bringing our own!
