There is no category for courtyard view. You can request a water view but your likely not to get it if the resort is full since it is a paid category.
Thanks Safetymom....I appreciate it. I'll be fine with a courtyard view. But I guess I could get a parking lot view as well. Either way, looking forward to my first stay there.

There is so much landscaping between the buildings and the parking lot it would be hard to see the cars. I have had parking lot view several times with no problems.

Awesome.......I think I'm getting more excited about my stay here than I originally was last week. I've even slowed way down in trying to switch to a value. I just got off the phone with CRO and requested N/S and Jamaica or Aruba (since I don't have a preferred reservation). These two sections "seemed" closer to the food court than Barbados or Trinidad South.
Thanks for your help safetymom ! :thumbsup2 Your pics are beautiful too.....I was checking out the links you posted in your siggy.

We're going in May as a Grand Gathering. We have 3 rooms. We have requested that 2 are adjoining (I know, it's not guaranteed). The problem is we are all arriving at different times on Memorial Day weekend. My family will be getting there early and I was wondering if I would be able to check-in for everyone since we'll all be linked with the grand gathering.

Or if that's not possible, are they pretty good about honoring the room requests once one member of the gathering as checked in?

We were a Grand Gathering in June. 5 rooms. 1 party checked in hours earlier than the rest of us. I ended up in an adjoining room with them. :thumbsup2 The other 3 rooms were also adjoining/adjacent but, around the corner, no big deal tho, we were corner to corner actually. :thumbsup2 If GG has higher priority, I don't know, but we were very happy! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Wow, this thread has been helpful, thank you Safetymom and all posters! I have some questions I didn't find in my quick overview:
1. Do all rooms have hairdryers and coffee makers?
2. Approximately how long of a walk is it from a preferred location to Port Royal/Main Pool? I know this will vary, we are brisk walkers. It's hard to tell by the maps.

Yes all the rooms have hair dryers and coffee makers. They also have a full size ironing board and iron. There is also a fridge in the room.

It might take 5 mins to walk from a preferred location.

Hi there, I am new to the board but not Disney. We are going to the CBR on December 2 - December 8. Could you tell me how to get and use the Disney Icons, I am very computer challenged!

Hi everyone! I am so excited about planning are very first trip to Disney. :cool1: We will be staying at CBR for 9 nights & 10 days next December. Thanks for all of the great information that you provide here on this board. Have a great day.

Many Thanks to safetymom for bringing this thread to my attention and everyone else here for all the most helpful information.
At this time next Week we will have just
arrived at CBR for our Very First trip to WDW w/ DH & DD13. We
are so Excited for this trip. I feel I am well prepared Thanks to
all of you and this wonderful board.

I've been trying to get a discounted rate at CBR or POFQ for a couple of weeks now, I called this morning and a std at POFQ and a waterview at CBR for 12/3 & 12/4 were finally available so I switched our res from CSR. We stayed at CSR once previously so I really wanted to try a different resort, first I switched to the std at POFQ but I called back and switched to the waterview at CBR instead (no std available). I was really torn between POFQ and CBR but I think I'll be happy with my choice.

DH and I drove through CBR a few years ago and I really liked the Caribbean them so I'm looking forward to our stay (just DD13 and I though, DH is getting Disney'd out so he's being a scrooge and staying home :teeth: ).

Hey Jeanne,
I'll be at CBR 12/1--12/4 (std). I'm also going only with my dd's ages 13 and 16. Dh and ds are staying home this trip as well. Maybe I'll see ya there !

I'm assuming you haven't had any luck getting into a value? I called yestderday and was very surprised to find that rooms opened up at both CBR and POFQ considering I'd been calling for 2 weeks with no luck.

Jeanne.....no luck. I think I would be tempted to go with POFQ if it opened up. I plan on calling in the next 5 min. I worked this weekend so I haven't called since Friday. But I called every day (twice each day), all last week. It's getting exhausting ! :rotfl: I have been calling just about daily since Oct 31.
Is there any way to bypass all the questions they ask you when you call ? (i.e. how many times have u visited, etc ?). The CM has to confirm my home address and email address every single time I call ? Why is this ? I just wish I could call and get a quick "yes" or "no". I plan to keep calling all week.

This drives me crazy also, I don't know if there's any way to bypass it. Early yesterday afternoon there was a std view available at POFQ for the nights of 12/3 & 12/4 so it might be worth a call.

If you don't have any luck maybe we'll see you at CBR!! :)

I'm traveling solo in Dec. I currently have a reservation at POP, but am considering upgrading to CBR. How is CBR for solos, or should I just stay at POP? With my AP discount the difference in price is only $500.00 (for a preferred room) for eight nights. Would it be worth it to upgrade?

Nevermind, too late! I just called and there were no preferred rooms for that weekend. However I was able to get a preferred room for Dec 11th-17th, so it looks like I'll be doing another split stay. I've done them before and enjoyed it. I'll be at POP for the first two nights then will upgrade to CBR for the last six nights. I've requested Martinique building 25 or 26. Would this be a good location for a solo traveler? Someone please convince me I didn't make a mistake. I've stayed at POP, CSR, POFQ, BW villa, WL, and AKL in the past. I've never even paid much attention to CBR, always considering it too big and too difficult to get around. I'm nervous, but excited!
