Should I call the CBR directly and make sure they have our room request???? I am so nervous about our room location. I really want to be close to the main pool. Is there any way to find out ahead of check in time what bldg you will be in????? I am just so nervous....I want this to be the perfect trip for us!!!! :worried:

Calling CBR will not do you any good as the room assigners will not assign your room until a few days before you arrive. I think they do all they can to accommodate requests, but in the end it is just a request. Try to not get hung up on the request because there is chance that you might not get it. Just relax and know that you will be in WDW for a great time with your family.

You will not find out what building you will be in until you check-in at the resort.

What has worked for me is requesting Jamaica and non smoking when I make the reservation with CRO. When checking in sometimes the CM will say I see you requested so and so and sometimes they will say nothing about requests. If they say nothing than while chatting I ask if it is possible to get a room in Jamaica preferably in buildings 44, 45, or 46.

Remember if you do get stuck where you do not want to be ask them if anything will open the next day and tell them you would be willing to move rooms.

If you have the request in your reservation no need to call. When you call the resort you are actually getting a call center not the actual resort.

Also when you get there you can always ask the CM again. They love to sprinkle a little magic on room assignments if you let them.

You will have a great time no matter where you stay at CBR.

We are going to be staying at CBR May 17 - 23!!! :cheer2: We are soooo excited. This will be our families first visit to WDW!!! :thumbsup2 My 10 yr old DD personally picked out CBR from the very beginning planning stage. Because of conflicts I had to change our travel times, and when I finally had a set date, there were no preferred rooms available. I booked a water view room, and have checked back numerous times for a preferred room, but none have become available. When I booked, I requested to be in Jamaica Bldg 45. We want to be as close to the main pool and Port Royale as possible. Should I call the CBR directly and make sure they have our room request???? I am so nervous about our room location. If you are truly as nervous as you seem, if you think a "bad" room assignment will stop your trip from being "perfect," I think you should consider changing your reservation to a "preferred location" room (if still available) to GUARANTEE you will be close to Old Port Royale. It costs an additional $15 per night. These buildings are Martinique 24, 25 and 26, and all three buildings in Trinidad North.

Does anyone have experience with connecting rooms at CBR? I requested them when I booked my reservation

Should we call the resort before we arrive to confirm it?
Are they available in all building or only certains ones? I would like to stay in Trinidad North or Martinique.

Thanks
Art

Did you pay extra to stay in Trinidad North or Martinique? Most of those buildings are considered preferred locations costing $15 extra nightly.

If you have it noted in your reservation there is no need to call. If you call you are just talking with a call center not the actual resort.

Connecting rooms are located all over the resort.

For more information on CBR I suggest reading the CBR FAQ II thread listed below.

Welcome to the DIS. :)

Thank you.

I have read quite a of the FAQs and they are are both interesting and helpful. Thanks for your work on this.

We reserved standard rooms. Does that mean we are blocked out of Trinidad North or Martinique?

We are going at the end of May (We cannot wait). Should I call Disney reservations now to note our preferences.

What recommendations do you make if we cannot get Trinidad North or Martinique? We want to be close to the large pool and be able to view fireworks without too much hassle.

Thanks again
Art

I would request Jamaica or Aruba. It is a short walk across the lake. There may be rooms available in the preferred location but I wouldn't count on it.

You can always watch the fireworks from the beach.

DD and I were in Jamaica 45 April 2-11 and liked the location just as well as we did the prefered building in October.

ArtP , we also like Jamaica building 45, just like lucyanna girl It's close to OPR and the main pool, without having to pay for a preferred room. We had a room on the second floor and could see the fireworks very well from the outside walkway.

Sorry, KCS, I didn't pay close enough attention to your post, I just now read that you tried to get preferred but it was sold out. Sorry I was so clueless!

GOOD LUCK!

Are there personal flotation devices / life jackets available for use at the resort? Or do I HAve to bring ours?

First of all, thanks so much for all of this info!

I have a question about the beds. Are they on platforms or can you just push them together? We're mom, dad and 8 yr old. We're bringing aero bed for 8 yr old.

Thanks.

Yes there are life jackets at the resort you can use.

Are they at each pool on a peg or something or do I ask for one at checkin and use it for the length of stay? We'll sometimes be at the "local' pool and sometimes at the big resort pool.

Just want to make sure :)

The beds are not on platforms at CBR

Hey, thanks everyone so much for you replys. I called res. and they definately have our request for Jamaica Bldg 45, so hopefully we will get that. If not, we are so excited, I am sure we will have a blast anyway!!!!!! :Pinkbounc I do hope we get in Jamaica, DH and I went to Jamaica (the island!!! :thumbsup2 ) on our honeymoon, so it would have special meaning for us. ;)
Thanks again everyone. We are counting down the days!!!!

KCS

We arrive the 19th - also requested Jamaica 45. see you soon "neighbor" :teeth:

thanks for the info scoutsmom. after posting i went back and took a look at a picture of a bed on the disney website which clearly shows that they are not on platforms - duh! gotta pay more attention to those pictures! also, someone else on the board said that she put her suitcases under the bed.

i actually called the resort today and was told by two different CMs that you cannot move the beds. i think it's just a housekeeping thing. if i decided to rearrange the beds, maybe just the headboard is attached to the wall? i usually always move furniture around to accomodate our stuff anyway, so i definitely hate those platform bed things.

one of the things that really attracted me to the resort is the privacy. so here's my other question: do you have to present id when you drive in and out? i remember staying at all of the other deluxe resorts. it was so easy to get on property if i didn't want to bring my car. for any of the MK resorts, all i had to do was park my car at the main area, take the monorail, get off the monorail at whichever hotel i wanted and then go walking around. i found the same applied for the BC/YC, but I would just have to take a boat.

i just remember all the pool crashers at the deluxe properties, which resulted in no lounge chairs!

any comments?

thanks.

Yes you have to show ID when you get to the guard shack. They aren't going to stop anyone from looking around a resort. I do it quite often.
