You can arrange for Garden Grocer to deliver directly to you in your room. If you don't want to wait around for a delivery, you can ask them to simply deliver the stuff to Bell Services, which is located in the Custom House. Then Bell Services will leave a message for you, and when you get back, you'll call them and they'll deliver to you.

We also used garden grocer and, they came right to our room. Just call them as soon as you know your room number. It's a GREAT service!!

I have a few questions... This might not be the right place for all of these, but it is worth a try!

We just made a reservation for CBR for October 12-17 in a preferred room. We wanted to know how long of a walk it is to the Main Pool, the food court and the bus station?

We were also wondering about how long of a bus ride it is to MK, DTD, MGM and Epcot....

Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi All-

My 6 year old dd and I just returned from four days at CBR - WE LOVED IT! We were in Aruba Building 53, room 5329. We had a king size bed in a corner room and it was lovely. The furnishings were great and the room had a lot of space. My dd loved the pool at Old Port Royale and would have loved to have had some time on the playground at the resort. We walked passed the village pool in Aruba a couple of times and it was big for a quiet pool. The walk to Old Port Royale wasn't bad - about 10 minutes and that's only because dd lives to stop and smell the roses so to speak!

The food court was good. We ate there two times - once for dinner and once for breakfast. We stopped in at other times to refill our mugs or grab snacks. The place was never dead! We made the mistake of showing up for lunch at about 12:30 on Saturday - the lines were enormous. Instead we went to DTD. This was the only time we had a problem.

Check in was smoothe as we arrived late. Our CM was fabulous! In fact, the entire resort staff was friendly and courteous. Our housekeeping was efficient and good, and done early (the way I like it!)

All in all, I would recommend this resort. The only possible drawback I could see is the size. We had a rental car so it was no big deal. However, I would not want to have to rely on an internal shuttle to get around (provided you don't want to walk.) Otherwise, the colors and decor are great and very relaxing, and the resort feels a world away from everything else.

If you are in a preferred room your building will be on either side of Old Port Royale the food court and the main pool. It may take about 5 mins if you walk real slow.

It doesn't take a lot of time for the buses.

Preferred location means a room in one of the 6 buildings closest to Old Port Royale. Each village has its own bus stop. Therefore, having a room in a preferred location building has no bearing on being close to or far from a bus stop, because no room at CBR is too far from a bus stop.

For informational purposes only, please no debates....

I was just informed by a CM who has seen the new maps of CBR with designated smoking area's marked. There will be at least one DSA for each building, some will have two DSA's per building. They will be located in courtyards and/or at the ends buildings.

I have stayed in Martinque Building 25, which is two buildings away from the food court. It took about 2 minutes to walk to the food court. Our bus stop was about 1 to 1 /2 minutes away. The Main Pool is at the same place as the food court.

Time from the resort to the parks varies due to traffic, etc. I honestly can't remember being on the bus for more than 10 or 15 minutes. We have just always enjoyed talking to all the people on the bus, and it makes the time go quickly. Rarely do you ever run into someone twice, but when you do, it's pretty awesome to compare notes. You can learn a lot of good tips from people when you engage in conversation!

I read at the very beginning of this thread (by safetymom) that the main pool at cbr will be closed Jan - June 2008. Anyone know if this is correct? How can I find out for sure? We are planning a trip in May 2008 for my entire family and I want to stay at CBR, but I don't want anyone to be dissappointed. Thanks to anyone who has info.

I believe this to be 100% totally true and accurate. The WL just had their pool closed for several months this winter 2007.

Yes the pool will be closed from Jan-June 2008. We were just there a few months ago and I asked a CM about that, and thats excatly what he told me. It's the main pool, but the other areas have there own pools, so those will be open during that time. I know we always go in March so we already decided to stay at the WL next year.

Thanks for the response. I decided to call CBR myself and the attendant confirmed that the main pool will be closed for refurbishment. WHAT A BUMMER!! What a dumb time to close the pool.
She did say that sometimes the resorts will provide transportation to other resorts for the use of their main pool when their main pool is closed like that. Has anyone had that happen to them (transporting to another resort for the pool)

Personally, it's too much trouble to be bussed to another resort, I like the comfort of being able to go to my room for a nap during swim time, if I want. Like I said, the other pools in the resort will be open.

Is the main pool THAT exciting. We do have lots of kids coming. Should we switch resorts? We kindof like the caribbean beach theme (at the moderate price) Any suggestions?

The main pool is very small, the "villages" ie..Martinque, Barbados, etc.. each have their own pool, which is fine, it's very basic, but it's enough to get you wet. I like the main pool because it has the Banana Cabana bar right there! I usually have a tropical drink, while my husband swims. Both my DDs only "sunbath" anymore, the pools are not cool.

Main pool small? Are you talking about the themed pool that has all the pirate scenery? I thought it was a great pool, but not small, lots of fun and the kids loved it.

They have to close it to refurb sometime. I am sure that is a slower time of year. When we go to CBR we do the main pool once or twice but like to swim in the quiet pools.

I do think the main pool is small compared to other resorts. We've stayed at the CBR 12 times in the past 14 times visiting WDW and the pool is not a draw for me or my family. We love the resort for its tropical theme and set up. Good luck!

How would we get help getting our luggage to the customs house? We will be using the Magical Express and I anticipate that our bus will leave around 8:30 am.

Just call Bell Services the day before (there's a button on the phone in your room marked "Bell Services") and tell them when the bus is coming. The person on the phone will give you a time that a van will come and pick you and your luggage up and take you to the Customs House.

We actually didn't call until about 4 hours before we were leaving, and they still managed to pick us up and get us there, but they recommend calling the day before. You'll get a Magical Express envelope the day before you leave that will give you the time your bus will come.
