I was wondering if any of you know the date that the Pirate rooms are set to open. The earliest that I have been able to tell is Jan 25th.
Anyone know for sure? Or, if they may open earlier than the date that is given?
Thanks for any help

The CBR is a large resort but that's part of the appeal to our family.

The promenade that connects the villages and goes around the entire resort lake is just 1.4 miles long. Old Port Royale, where the food court, store, main pool, restaurant and store are located, is approximately one-half way around the promenade. So, no matter where you are located, you are never more than half that far from all the goings on. Hope that made sense!

Each village has their own bus stop so you are never far from a stop.

The resort grounds are so lush and pretty so the walks are very plesant.

I really wouldn't worry too much if I were you!

I agree... another thing we like about the layout of CBR is that the rooms areas are quieter, and there's a bus stop near every room, which in that case actually minimizes walking!

I've had a similar experience to Safetymom -- I've stayed at WL and AKL -- we walked a lot at WL, and we walked a LOT farther when we were at AKL. I think you'll love CBR!! :thumbsup2

I was wondering if anyone can confirm something for me. I was on the phone with a CM from CRO this morning and he said that there are no more designated smoking areas at CBR, or any of the resorts for that matter, and that DSAs are only at the theme parks. I was asking him to put a note on our reservation to request not being near a DSA, but it just doesn't sound right to me that there wouldn't be any smoking at all allowed. I know the guest rooms are non-smoking, but I would think they would still have places to accomodate smokers. Does anyone know? :confused3 TIA!

There are tons of Designated Smoking Sections at CBR, but they aren't in the way of anyone other than smokers. You'll see a bench at each island with an ashtray. CRO was incorrect in telling you this.

There is a designated smoking area thread at the top of the resorts board. It shows where they are at each resort.

Bucket dumps toward the front; a bell starts to ring and gets faster and faster when bucket is about to spill over.

I am here in my room at CBR. The room I have has new carpeting. The room is great. It's like a great old friend refreshed.

Of course I will post pictures when I get home. Off to take more pictures and to try out the new pool. :) :) :)

Hey Safetymom...

Thanks for posting...what room/building are you in?

Hope you have a GREAT time!!!

No queen beds at CBR. I haven't heard for a fact if they are going to get them. At this point I doubt it since they got new platforms for the beds. No storing anything under the bed anymore.

We have stayed at CSR on our last 2 trips and although we love it there, I'm thinking of staying at CBR on our next trip. I've been reading this thread and although I've gotten some great info and enjoyed the pics, I don't have enough time to read all the pages so I'm sorry if these questions were asked already. Is there any elevators in the buildings? Do the buildings have more than 2 floors? And is Caribbean Cay just an Island in between the 2 sides of the lake or is there something on it? And do they have pool towels at the main pool? Thanks, Linda :)

Main pool closed at 7:30. :(

Safetymom, is there any reason that you can see for that? We are coming down in Dec. and we like to swim at night after a day at the parks and would hate for the pool to be closed. Thanks!!! Have a great trip!!!

No elevators but there are only 2 floors so it's not that bad. Caribben Cay is a walkway/island that connects both sides of the lake - it's a very nice walk. I believe there is towels at the pool - probably the same as your room towels. One thing everyone must know prior to booking is how huge this resort its! It's wonderful though!

Went back to the pool at 9 PM. Main pool had signs all around saying it was closed. 2 lifeguards in the kids area. Hot tub and cool spa were open. I will try to find out if it is like that every night.
