Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

I know that when we went in May 2007 there was a coloring table all the way to the right and to the back of the food court (near Shutters). I don't think there was a TV in there, but I could be wrong. We always ate in this area to occupy my 1 year old (and so her noise would just blend in with the crowd :) ). I know of the area of which you speak at POR (we always sat there as well when we stayed there), and the CBR area wasn't as nice as that, but it is better than nothing!

Thank you ~ that is great info! A coloring table is good enough ~ I'm just glad to hear there is something there. We really looked forward to returning to POR each night and heading to the food court for this reason.

They recently removed the smaller children's tables from the Food Court area at CBR in order to make room for more large tables.

But is there still a coloring table? Or any sort of play area in the food court will do....

quick question...what size are the coffee pots so I know which size filters to bring with us?????

I have stayed at 2 moderates, CBR will be my third so I can't say for sure but from my experience with the other 2 it has been a 4 cup coffee maker. They do give you packets to use but I choose to bring my own. I just like the taste of mine better.

Have you ever heard of Keens?
I swear by them, I personally think they look nicer than Crocs also.

They have an arch in them and offer great support! I even brought a brand new pair for our last trip and didn't get to break them in before we left... Not even a little blister or anything.. I now own 7 different styles!

Just a suggestion for achy pregnancy feet!

Thank you so much :) I found many stores in my area that carry them. I do not see any retailers with my size though..9W..I am going to try their mens shoes and see if those fit.

LOL! I was pregnant over 7 years ago:rotfl: ! My feet just never recovered. Thank you again!

There are several pictures of the food court a few pages back on this thread. Try around page 105! :goodvibes

I thought the pictures were of the "grab n go" is the food court a different set up or is "grab n go" the food court ? I always picture a food court as a few fast food type places ...

There are two areas at the food court. The grab and go and then several counter service choices. You can go to all of them before heading to the check out.

The grab & go is in the food court. There are 4 or 5 fast food counters plus the grab & go! :goodvibes

The grab n go station is just one of the several stations in the food court. I thought I took more pictures of the food court but I guess I didn't. The food court looks like a market place with many different food stations.

One is the grab n go. As you can see from the previous pictures, the grab n go has a variety of "quick" food items to choose from.

Another station has pizza, fresh tossed salads, breadsticks and pasta.

Yet another station has chili dogs, burgers and chicken strips.

The next station has hot and cold deli sandwiches like turkey, reuben, philly cheesesteak and more.

The last station has rotissiere chicken and veggies. If I am remembering correctly, this station may only be open at dinner but I could be wrong.

In the mornings, you can find Mickey waffles, breakfast meats, pancakes, omelets, eggs, biscuits and more.

There are drinks at each station and you'll also find smoothies, desserts and ice cream.

There are separate lines for each of the stations. You get a tray at the various stations and then go to one central cashier. The grab n go station has their own cashier or you can take your items with you to the central cashier.

If you want a fountain drink, you will be given a cup at the cashier's register. The drink station is situated in the center of the seating area. The fixings for burgers and hot dogs are located in the circular drink station area.

Another long counter has sugar, salt pepper, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, parmesan cheese, tea bags, jams, etc. This counter is also where you'll find the microwaves and toasters. A small sink is at the end of this counter so that you can wash out your refillable mugs.

If you want to take your items to go, just tell the person fixing your meal and they will give you a top. The cashiers also have to-go boxes and large handled brown bags.

There is a lot of seating inside and you'll also find umbrella tables outside of Old Port Royale.

If you have more questions, just post.

I read earlier in this thread that there are 2 slides at the main pool. Looking at the great pictures, I can only see one. I can see the slides in the kids area. Where is the other one? We were at CBR in 2006 and are going back in July of 2009. :thumbsup2

The Nemo Rooms aren't exactly looking "Themed". It does just look like a new bedspread and blue curtains, and fishy border. What's with the aged/worn looking pineapple bed posts and dingy chairs & table and light fixture above the bed?
Hmmmmm..........I guess I was expecting a total room refurb/update. Doesn't look very updated, just "lightly freshened", imo.
Is that if for the Nemo rooms?

Another Question: Are the Rooms at POR, AB, bigger then those at CBR???
Does anyone know the size/sqr ft difference if any???

Thanks so Much for replies. Just narrowing down where to stay next trip. The more info I have the better, I LOVE the Planning!!!

Now my DD, 7yrs, wants to pick out some smiley dudes.....here she goes:

:hmghost: :figment: :mickeyjum :dumbo: :happytv: :surfweb:  popcorn:: :laundy:  :yay: :rotfl: :hourglass :beach: pixiedust: :drive: :crowded: :thanks: :chat: :boat: :rockband:

A question for those of you that stayed in the Nemo rooms: Is there still under-bed storage space, or is there a solid bed box instead?

Also, in response to the safe questions, here are pictures I got of the safe with a water bottle for scale. I unfortunately didn't find the safe until our check-out day since it is hidden behind the privacy curtain near the ironing board.

The beds in the new Nemo rooms are the box type. No more under the bed storage. I put all our suitcases (they are the kind that fit one into another) in one and then stood them on end between the dresser and bench.

Does box type mean not box spring either (like a murphy bed)?

So how does it work with the refillable mugs? Is there a station somewhere you can self-service or do you have to go through a station and request someone to fill it?

The new pool is bigger than the old one, isn't it?

Someone is stating on another thread that the new pool is still "very small" for the resort size. . . . . :confused3
