we're staying at CBR for the first time in september (and can't wait!). previously we've stayed at CSR and POP and when staying there we faxed our requests to the resort (i think it was about 3 days prior to arrival).. i'm just wondering.. do we have to do this when staying at CBR or is having the requests noted on the reservation good enough??? TIA!!!! :goodvibes

Just found this on today's (7/28/08) WDWMagic Page:

The new pool area at the Caribbean Beach Resort is still expected to open early, with the final week of August being the current projected date.

That would be nice :goodvibes
we will be there one night only before switiching to WL..we arrive at CBR on Aug 30th- Ill keep my fingers crossed that the pool will be open by then..we dont have park passes on arrivial day, so its a swim and dtd day anyway!:thumbsup2

Is this the address I use to ship a case of water: 900 Cayman Way
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830?

What else do I need to put on there? TIA!

We were looking to change our ressie in Oct. from the POFQ to the CBR, my TA called and said the Martinique was booked, so my next choice is Jamaica or Aruba waterview,

I booked at CBR using a code, and was also told that I had a waterview in either Aruba or Jamaica (I had originally asked for preferred but were told they are sold out for that particular code). I am paying extra for the waterview of course, but I thought that these (waterview) rooms could be anywhere? Am I really assured that I will have a room in Aruba or Jamaica? The CM I booked with said yes. That would be great, but I am still skeptical... anyone have an opinion? :confused3

Unfortunately those CM's often have the facts a little off the mark. Maybe she requested Jamaica or Aruba, but waterview rooms can be in any of the Villages as it also includes a pool view, not just a lake view.

You can certainly add lake view to your request, along with a Village request - but as we all know, it is a request only.

Good luck!!

That would be awesome! If not, DD wouldnt know the diff and would be happy with the quiets pools.

That would be brilliant, i'm trying not to think about it too much so that i don't set myself up for dissapointment.

Because sarcasm doesn't usually come across on email....enter sarcastic tone here.......

That would be just perfect for the pool to open the last week of August seeing as our vacation is August 10th~August 21st !!!! The projected new opening would put it open the weekend after we leave .......

when is the best time to pre book a room?

our resevation is for next month so we need to know who and how to contact to get a room in jamaica.

Unfortunately, room location is only by request, so it is best to be sure your request is on your reservation. If you booked directly through Disney, call them and let them know you would like to add a room request. If through a travel agent, ask your agent to add the requests to your reservation.

It is best to keep it to no more than 3 requests (if you have 3. but l with the most important first.
For example:
1. Jamaica
2. Aruba
3. 2nd floor

Jamaica is a very popular request, so it will depend on how full the resort is when you arrive - they do try to honor requests. So, add it to your reservation now and ask nicely again at check-in.

Hope this helps! Have a wonderful trip!! :)

Thank you very much for the reply, I'll e-mail the tour operator tomorrow to see what they can arrange. They have been very helpful up to now so fingers crossed i'll get somewhere good.

:thumbsup2

I plan on booking this weekend for August 2009. I read about the NEMO and the pirate themed room. I know nothing is guaranteed, but would i suggest a preferred room in Martinique 24? Is that where the NEMO rooms will be and possibly the pirate?

The pirate rooms will be in Trinidad South. By August 2009 the other villages will have the Nemo theme.

How does this room look?

Walt Disney World has unveiled a rendering and a few details of some retheming and renovations in the works for Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort -- theming it after the hugely-popular Pirates of the Caribbean ride/movies/games franchise.

Beds that look like ships. Dressers that look like old crates. Curtains that look like tattered sails. The attached artist's rendering shows a few of the details.

Disney is planning the look for 384 rooms in the Trinidad South Village Area, set to be ready sometime next year. The resort has a total of 2,112 rooms.

Confirmed by the Orlando Sentinel today!

:thumbsup2

Are there any renderings of the Nemo rooms? I keep reading about them but I have not seen any pictures. I am definately reconsidering my hotel choice for next year. Only problem is we are a party of 5. Any rumors of them adding trundle beds?

Look back a couple of pages. Safetymom took some pictures of the new Nemo rooms.
