Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3

I've been told that this resort is huge. Walking doesn't bother me at all, but I was wondering which islands do people perfer and why?

Aruba and Jamaica are across the lake from food court with a bridge connecting the two sides. Some people just like being on that side of the lake. Martinque is another good section - non preferred rooms are not that far of a walk and sometimes Martinque is the first bus stop.

Even the furthest rooms are no more than a 10 min. walk to the food court, if there is no problem with walking, and the grounds are nice to walk around.

We've been in every section and have no problem with any of them - just being there is great!

My thoughts exactly, you're on holiday. What's the problem with a wee walk? :confused3
It might actually do you good!:rotfl:

I LOVE the new Nemo theme! Okay, it's a little chintzy, but it's still pretty darn cute! I called and requested a room in Martinique 24 if it was available. We've already paid for a king room though, so I don't know how likely it will be. We're going in October, so maybe we'll get lucky. My DD2 would flip if she got to spend the week in Nemo's room.

I asked the CM, and at first she said she hadn't heard anything. Then we chatted for a few minutes, and then she said..."let me look again, I think I got a memo a little while back....hmmm....No, all I see is the pool." Talk about keeping me on the edge of my seat for a minute!

The pool looks pretty darn cool as well. I'm so excited about our trip, I could just pop.

A Nemo room wouldn't make or break the trip for me or anything, but it sure would be a cute little cherry on top.

There are 4 categories of rooms at CBR.

Standard
Water view
King
Preferred

If you have a king your chances of getting Martinique 24 are as good as someone staying in a standard room. It will depend on how many people paid for preferred if there are any rooms available in Martinique 24.

Does anyone know anything about the Islands of the Caribbean Pirate Adventure Cruise for kids at CBR? :goodvibes

There was a thread here on the Resorts board about it yesterday or the day before, you might check back a few pages. My boys loved the one at the GF, I'll send them on the one at CBR if we stay there again.

My favorites are Aruba & Jamaica since we love the little walk across the bridge. I don't think the resort is a lot of walking. It only is a 5-10 minute walk to the food court and it is BEAUTIFUL! The landscaping is great and it is always pleasant with the calypso music and all. :beach:

We love the CBR and I know we'll go visit it while we're staying at BWV!:goodvibes

I'm glad to know that the walk across is pleasant. I've never stayed at CBR, but I figured it would be nice to get to OPR by walking across the bridge.

I have a question and it's probably an old one...

Are there still parrots and birds in the center of the bridge?

No birds on the island. They left years ago. :(

Do you know why they didn't keep the birds? When I first read about CBR, I really liked that aspect of the resort. How did they leave? Did Disney take them out or did they just migrate somewhere else?

Bummer, it seems to be only on Tuesday and Tuesday is the only day we are not there.... DD did the one from the beach/yacht club last year and loved it!

Hey Safetymom! Any new updated pics on the pool construction? Also, any more information on the refurbs going on in the rooms?
