What great info and photos, it's really helping me look forward to a last-minute trip to WDW that I booked just today. Well, it's last-minute for me, as I usually book at least a year ahead, lol!

We've stayed at WDW 9 times, but never at the caribbean beach, don't know why not, because it looks great! It's just DD (18) and I this trip and we're really looking forward to it now we've seen all these pics! :lmao:

Just one question, do all the rooms have a fridge?

To SafetyMom - hope your son's wedding goes smoothly, and thanks for the great info and photos. :D

Safetymom---Best Wishes to your son on his wedding.
My son is getting married in a month and we have had alot of fun planning.
DH and I are coming to CBR to stay (again) in Sept. and can't wait to try out the new pool and slide.(and to be at CBR again)
Thanks for all the pics!!!:goodvibes It makes me excited to be coming back!

Congrats to your son and partner. Looking forward to next pics but i'am sure you have loads on your mind.

quick room location question ( I hope) we are planning a land/sea package for Jan/Feb 2010 and trying to decide which mod to stay at. CBR looks huge and we will be traveling with 2 small children as well as 2 seniors with difficulty walking. we will need rooms which are close to the bus stops, food court and ground level. any suggestions of what to request?

As a lot of you guys know, our family is a CBR lovin' family. For our May/June, 2008 trip, we decdided to stay at Pop Century 'cause the family we were going with had to stay at a value resort. It was killing us to forego the CBR but we were resigned to the fact that it was just something we had to do.

Well, we had to cancel our trip unexpectedly. I was offered a new job and I would be making more money for lots less work. The hitch? I had to start immediately.....two days before our WDW vacation was scheduled. My daughter is graduating her first year of missionary college in July and I couldn't very well tell my new boss that I had to take ten days off in May/June and then two more days off in July. So, the WDW vacation was cancelled. I have already told my boss that I would be taking off next year for a WDW vacation.

Anyway, on to the subject. As soon as the 2009 prices come out, we have decided to book another stay at the CBR!!!!! I read this thread faithfully and love looking at the pictures that Safetymom keeps posted.

Safetymom, does the main pool reconstruction have any effect on the island or the walkway/promenade around the lake? I really couldn't tell from looking at the earlier construction pictures.

Anybody know if there will be any other rehabs going on at the CBR during the last week of May through the first full week of June, 2009?

Thanks in advance for any info. and sorry for the sob story earlier but I know that you guys will understand the sadness!

At first the sidewalk was closed by the construction but now you can walk around the lake with no problems. The new deck area at OPR is great.

Disney hasn't announced any rehabs yet for 2009 at CBR. If they do I will post it in the first post of this thread.

Eric - Thanks for the heads up on the fridge, that's great news! :thumbsup2

I have a friend at work who is planning to goto WDW and is staying at CBR. Do you know if the pool restoration is done? And if not when?

The pool is scheduled to reopen Sept. 15. Keep looking at the first post of this thread for updated information.

Safetymom - thanks for the fridge photo, that's plenty big enough, no need for a styrofoam cooler this trip! :thumbsup2

Can I just ask, when we check in at the customs house, do we have to walk to our room or do they have those buggy type vehicles which will take you? We won't have a car so was just wondering what would happen if we had a room far away from the customs house? :confused3

Thanks

If you do not have your checked luggage with you (such as if you arrive at the resort via Disney's Magical Express), you will not get a ride to your room. If your room is fairly far from the Custom House, you will be instructed to take the internal shuttle bus.

If you have your checked luggage with you, you and your luggage will be given a ride to your room in a Bell Services van, and will be assisted with the luggage (and of course you'll tip the Bell Services CM). However, if it is very busy and if there is a long wait, you'll have the option of leaving your luggage with Bell Services and taking the internal shuttle bus to your room, and having the luggage delivered when they can.

Thanks Eric, we will have our luggage with us, as we're arriving by taxi from the Royal Pacific Resort. We would probably be checking in late afternoon, do you happen to know what is the busiest time for check-in? We're quite flexible on our arrival time, so would rather check-in later if it meant a shorter line and getting to our room quicker. Thanks :thumbsup2
