**Buses**
Going on the info i have they all take between 30 and 50 minutes, even places like Epcot despite it being just across the road.
These times include stops and getting fully into the park.

Can anyone share a link or personal experience how long it takes to get to each of the parks from CBR using the buses? Do the buses at CBR also first run an hour before park opening?

This is our first trip to WDW and we'll be staying at CBR in a preferred room (we requested Martinique) Sept. 7-13. It is so disappointing though knowing the new pool is scheduled to open two days after we leave.:( We are, however, super excited about our trip and the beach theming.

The 2008 WDW PassPorter I have quotes times around 20-25 minutes for each park. This doesn't include time waiting at the bus stop.

We've stayed at CBR many times and although once in awhile it would take longer we were usually at EPCOT and the Studios in a few minutes.

It would take 20/25 mins to MK, but not to EPCOT or Studios - unless the bus was very crowded and had to stop at every Village.

Remember, most Village stops take no more than a couple of minutes, sometime seconds!
:)

Have stayed at CBR several times, going again in 19 days!!! Have never had more than a 30 minute bus trip and that included waiting for the bus. Most trips, once on the bus take only minutes. Downtown Disney was our longest trip.

Thanks for info. Does the first bus in the morning start at 8:00 for a 9:00 park opening?

Buses start even earlier for those with breakfast ADR's. Othewise an hour before park opening, no matter what time that may be. :flower1:

The time and calendar are right for us to consider spending New Year's at Disney again. We were there 5 years ago as that was when the calendar fell right so the kids didn't have to be back to school on the second. This year school opens after the Holiday break on 01/05/09.

We're already going in August using our DVC (just our family), so this would make two trips in a year for us :cool1: and the Holiday trip would be with my SIL, BIL, DNephew and D Niece.

I do have 4 rooms on hold and just need to finish convincing hubby (and my sister-in-law needs to get her hubby on board), needless to say, the kids are all on board. :rotfl:

As Christmas is the most expensive time (as is Easter) to stay, we have booked CBR. (No rooms at POR or FQ) and don't want to stay at a Value, my question has to do with the possibility of getting all 4 rooms next to or close to one another. I need to have connecting rooms as my boys are still young, don't know if my SIL cares as her two are older (20 and 17). That said, are there two sets of connecting rooms near each other? Also, is this something that I can get guaranteed?

I'm also very grateful for this extremely comprehensive thread. Thank you so very much SafetyMom :worship: :flower3:

Looking forward to spending another "this is nutz" time at the World.

Now all I need is some pixie dust to get the men on board. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

If you have 8 or more you should make the reservation through Disney's Grand Gatherings. You then have a higher priority in room assignments.

They will not guarantee connecting rooms if there are enough parents for the rooms you are reserving. Even then if you get there and there are no connecting rooms available you may be out of luck.

Can anyone tell me about the Pirate Adventure at the CBR? Is it so popular that no way I would get it for September? Is it worth it? Any help greatly appreciated!

My children (8 and 5) loved the pirate adventure. I did call approximately 90 days out - but you never know until you call. I know that their adventure on Sunday of Presidents Day weekend was not full. Now, if that was due to last minute cancellations or not being fully booked, I do not know.

It was great for me to take my book to a beach chair and occasionally see them float by. It was one of their favorite activites at WDW.

I highly reccomend it if you are staying at CBR.

We will be staying at CBR for the first time for our honeymoon! I know we have a king size bed but Im hoping for an upgrade to a closer building (to main) with a court yard view although I understand its not guaranteed. Reservationist mentioned she was marking it honeymoon so she thought resort would do something special..

Now to be honest I wanted a value or CSR but they were booked during my dates I was concerned b/c CBR rooms from pics Ive seen seemed kinda worn and the tv is so small.. Anyone know if those have been upgraded yet? Not a big deal just curious..DF wants to relax in the hot tub but it looks like that area will be under construction while we are there..

Question: if we get a building far from the main ( plan on eatting breakfast at food court) is there a bus that will take us to the main building I thought I read there is an enternal bus since the resort is so large..

Congrats on your wedding!

You'll enjoy the peacefulness of the CBR, and if the two of you are healthy (walking wise), you'll enjoy the walk to the food court. There's a sidewalk going around the lake that will take you to the food court. It can be a very nice stroll with the gardens and lake view versus going out to the parking lot bus stop to wait on the internal bus.

Have a great trip :)

Subscribing.

Staying here in December. I have been reluctant to stay here since my last trip because the resort was a little worn. However my travel buddy has been wanting to try this resort. So I am going to give it another try. :)

It looks from your sig. that your last stay at CBR was in 2001.

The resort was renovated late 2003 or 2004 (that was our only stay somewhere else - Poly. due to CBR being closed)

Of course more wear and tear has taken place since then. Hope you enjoy your stay. :)

Thanks! Did not realize CBR had any renovations that recent - that's about the same time POR & FQ had major refurbs.

Assuming the renovations were in the line of light freshening up..fresh paint etc? TV's are still the small ones. Fridges are new & nicer since the original ones in '88.

It's so nice to be looking forward to a CBR stay this summer!::yes::

I'm just curious as to when the work will begin. I'd love a refurbed room in Dec. but I'm not holding my breath, just wishful thinking. pixiedust:

No telling, but I can tell you that last time CBR was closed for refurb., we already had our ressie for Dec. and didn't find out till around Sept. that the resort was going to be closed and had to transfer to another resort.

At that time we were offered the option of staying at another mod for same price or the Poly or AKL for about $25.00 a night more. So it turned out well for us - I couldn't pass up trying the Poly for a such a good price.
