They said they do it every Sunday and Wednesday. They had beach chairs set up on CAribbean Cay with a big screen. Lifeguards greeted us at the gate and had glow in the dark beads for the kids.

The 1st movie was Toy Story and the 2nd was Lilo and Stitch during our stay.

That's awesome. I did not know they did that. :thumbsup2

I echo staribluenite's request for more opinions on room location at Jamica or elsewhere. Also thanks camdensmom your input its appreciated:) I am looking for quiet, nice view and not to far away from anything, although we don't mind walking some

You won't find a noisy area at CBR. If you look through this thread you will find many room location reports.

We have stayed at the CBR twice. The first time, were in Jamaica Building 41The location was wonderful. It took us about a minute to walk to the bus stop, less than a minute to get to the Jamaica quiet pool, a minute to the Jamaica beach and about 5 minutes to Old Port Royale. The walk from our building to Old Port Royale was quite nice. We walked over the wooden bridge and through the island in the middle of the lake. All the while you are on the island, you will hear Caribbean music which is a nice touch.

I haven't been to the CBR since the main pool construction has begun but I believe that Safetymom and the other posters have said that it really wasn't hard to walk around the construction area.

We stayed in Martinique in June, 2007 and the location was just as lovely as Jamaica. Our walks took about the same length of time as the ones from Jamaica. Honestly though, I think I liked Jamaica location better because I enjoyed the walk through the island.

As Safetymom said, there really isn't a noisy area at the CBR. Both the Jamaica and the Martinique areas were nice and quiet. My family and I took the walk around the entire promenade/resort and all of the locations seemed quiet.

Speaking of the promenade, it's a nice, peaceful walk. You get to see all of the villages and, at one point, the walkway goes through a semi-wooded area. You'll also see lots of little animals....lizards, rabbits, squirrels and a variety of birds. The marina rents surrey bikes and bicycles and, if you would rather ride a bike instead of walk around the promenade, you can do that too.

I wonder if they will be doing this in December, my kids have always been facinated by the Campfire Movies at Ft. Wilderness, this would be a great alternative. My kids would love this.

Thanks, we will have to do this with DD in August.

Unless there is another hole in the screening it is hard to get any new pictures. I will try to get over there in the next week or two.

We are looking forward to our first stay at CBR this fall.

We have always stayed at the values before and are looking forward to it.

We leave for home on Sept 1st so I'm sure we will not get to see the new pool.

-------------------------------------
With the main pool closed during our entire we have switched to Coronado Springs Resort - we will give CBR a try next time!!

This is our first trip as a family. DH & I have been there as kids and teens, but at my last calculation, I've not been to the World in 18 years. :scared1: So there's alot that we will see and do that will be 'new to us'.

I will say that I chose CBR because of the look and feel of the place. (thanks to safteymom's threads)

I had originally booked us at ASMo, but heard about crowds, noise, small rooms, etc. I was looking for a place that we can relax. We have a 4 yr old daughter and I'm thinking about a mid-day nap for her and that translated into some place that offered peace & quiet. Also both hubby and I have fast-paced jobs. I just love the feel of a Carribean beach. pirate:

My first trip (when I was 9 years old, er...sometime in the 70s), we stayed at the Poly. I thought this was pretty close to that (and within our budget). :rolleyes1

Here's the thing that bothered me at first. I don't hear or see many people staying at the CBR on the rest of the boards, everyone seems to go on and on about POR, which I'm sure it's nice. But DH & I have never gotten into the whole, Mardi Gras, New Orleans, Cajun stuff. (Besides, I'm from Alabama and we all know that Mobile has the real Mardi Gras ;) ) But popular resorts can translate into lots of people. I think we have stumbled upon a well-kept secret! I can't wait to get there and I promise to submit a full report! :yay: Also DH & I will be celebrating our wedding Anniversary while we're down there too!

First, congrats on your anniversary!:cheer2: You've picked a great place to go and "get away" from a fast pace. I, too, have a fast-paced job and CBR is a great getaway. We're amazed how quiet the resort feels, even though there are so many rooms and people staying there! The beachy, relaxing atmosphere is like a vacation within your vacation!:cool1: Have a great time!

I am glad that not everyone knows of the CBR charm. :) That way I can always get a room there.

I can still remember the first time I stayed at CBR. I wasn't a Disney fan at that time. I remember walking around the resort that first morning. I couldn't get over how beautiful this resort was.

Good choice! You will love the CBR. Our first stay there was just fantastic, and we've been back many times! I've stayed at POFQ and visited POR and it doesn't have the same feel as CBR. CBR is like a vacation--like one of the PP said. You feel like you are somewhere else and it is wonderful! Hope you have a wonderful time!:goodvibes

Okay, so we will be down on September 19th through the 27th. We are currently booked at POFQ because of the pool. Does Disney usually allow them extra time to complete a project to announce later finish date, or am I cutting it too close? I really didn't want to go down without the new pool finished.

Also, if I were to find out the pool was finished, could I switch right before I left. I did book the Free Dining promotion, so maybe that wouldn't be possible.

Thanks so much,
Laine

YAY!!! Thank you....we will be watching! :goodvibes

IT is my only part of the trip I am a little bit anxious about.

I am a little slow so I need help :goodvibes We are staying at the CBR in February 2209 and I am so glad to know that it doesn't have an elevator, so I will request a first floor room because we are taking a 28 month old...that being said we definitively will get a preferred room but where should I request to be the closest to the food court and bus stop or is that too much to ask for....have read through the posts and I think Jamaica???????????We have stayed three times at the pop but this is our first time at the CBR
