I may be in the wrong place. Forgive me. I am new to these boards.

I have a few questions. I feel like I have done nothing but obsess over my upcoming trip. We go on Dec. 30th. I am struggling with Disney's site.

Staying at CBR. Never stayed there. Stayed at Contemp and Animal Kingdom in past.

When and how to do I contact about requesting a specific room, location, etc. ? We have a preferred room. It is just hubby and I on this trip. I saw that others have called ahead? or requested on-site? I have seen people say the corner rooms have more light and feel bigger. other tips?

For food, do I go to a different board? I just need suggestions for table service dinners. I have always liked the Italian place at Epcot. What about the other parks? Suggestions?

What is the best/easiest way to keep notes on all of this? I tried adding notes to my itenerary (on Disney's site), but they won't save or I cannot retrieve them.

Thanks for helping and or pointing me in the right direction.

Welcome to Dis!! You have found the most wonderful information forum around with loads of information that will answer all of your asked and unasked questions! :)

CBR is our families favorite Moderate Resort...it even beat out Wilderness Lodge for us. :) The themeing, landscaping, location, amenities for the cost is fantastic!

We always request a certain location when booking our reservations or a few days after booking. Since you've booked a Preferred Room I would call to request a room either in Martinique or Trinidad North. A few of these buildings in these two islands are considered Preferred and are the absolute closest buildings to Old Port Royale. The two best standard islands would be Aruba and Jamaica as they're just a short walk (5-8 minutes) over the bridge and island to Old Port Royale. Fantastic location without having to pay for preferred rates.

The bus service here is fantastic. CBR has their own bus...does not share with any other resort so makes for much quicker transportation to the parks. Each island has their own covered bus stop so not alot of walking to get to a bus stop. There is also an internal bus that just makes the loop from island to island to Old Port Royale. So if anyone should get a room in the further islands it's a quick shuttle ride to OPR.

The Dining forum on this site is wonderful as well. Just scroll to the bottom of this page to click within the box for the dining section. I believe there are menu's here as well as can be found at www.allears.net. Our favorite restaurants: Boma's, Le Cellier, Marakesh, San Angel, Rose n Crown and Coral Seas at Epcot...haven't been to Italy's restaurant in years, but my daughter and her fiance really enjoyed it last year. Our favorites at MK: Castle, Crystal Palace, Columbia Harbor House...quick jaunt to Contemporary for Caliafornia Grill (expensive but fantastic especially for couples) and Chef Mickey's or Ohanas' at the Poly. 50's Prime Time is a lot of fun at DHS and Tusker House at AK. But go on over to the Dining Forum and check out all of the different menu's!

I absolutely love my Passporter to Walt Disney World. You can order these online at www.passporter.com or at your local bookstore. Even though I have been to Disney 49 times I have found that I use my Passporter quite a lot, because in the back it has sections where you can write everything down on a day by day basis to help make an itinerary.

Keep coming to the boards there is a wealth of information here and everyone is so helpful!!!

I hope you enjoy CBR as much as our family does!!

How were the buses...did you like your room location? Welcome back....jsut have to get busy planning your next trip:)
OT....thank you for your service:)

Yes, THANK YOU for all you do as a firefighter!!!

The buses at CBR are great -- I agree 100% with MariaEller -- with every village (plus Old Port Royale) having its own bus stop, the bus stops are always convenient to your room, and CBR has lots of buses coming through!

We love CBR -- feel free to check out some older photos below!:cool1:

Just so you guys know i am not a firefighter. I am a New York City Fire Dept Paramedic. You guys do not need to thank me,if anything i like to thank you.

The buses were great, i have read what seemed like a lot of complaints before i left reguarding bus service. My longest wait was 15 minutes at cbr for a mk bus, this was after just missing a mk bus by seconds. Out of 4 stars i give the buses 3 and a half stars.

We booked perferred and ended up in building # 31, room # 3161. A corner room on the second floor. If your standing in the parking lot looking at old port royal, building 31 is the first building to the left. It was a short 2 or 3 minute walk to old port royal. Our villages pool seemed to be only 10 feet away and our villages bus stop was no more than a 3 minutes walk. This is our familys second time at this resort, we loved it last time and this time as well.

As for planning my next trip, IT IS ALREADY BOOKED!

Aug 24 to sept 2, 2009 @ CBR again!!:cool1: :cool1: :worship:  :yay:

Oh and imagine those poor babies (actual babies, toddlers & children, not whiney adults like me )already there and wanting to get in.Bless their hearts.

Love bugs are bugs that fly around in two's. They are called love bugs because they are "stuck together", they are "in love" ...and in September they are all over Disney World. They are a little annoying but not scary. Just kinda like big gnats that aren't afraid to demonstrate their affection for each other.

Hope this helps!

This thread rocks!!:cheer2:

I booked our trip earlier this week and I am soooo excited for the new pool opening. DS is going to be over the moon (well, so will I....lol)

I haven't stayed at CBR since it first opened during a trip between Christmas/New Years in late 1989. I cannot wait! :yay:
