We loved Trinidad North. I don't know why the guidebooks would recommend against it.

We did too. Everything was fine the first week of Feburary, so I have no idea what that guide book was talking about. :confused3 Unless maybe it had some issues whenever that book was written? Who knows.

As for the construction, it wasn't a bother at all.

Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! Especially you Safetymom, for all of the great pictures. Since Dec. I have been checking out this page to look over everything. I am just excited to go and I know that we made the best choice for this resort. Thanks again everybody!:thumbsup2

We would love to request Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51,so we could walk over the
bridge to OPR and enjoy the scenery. My concern is the closeness to the buses in these locations. From the maps it appears to be a little hike to either
bus stop. Anyone know from experience?

We will be there Oct19-26 a month after the remodel is finished and we are so excited!!:cheer2:

Carribean Beach is the first resort we visited as a family and we all fell in
love with it! Can't wait to go back!

We just returned fom Aruba 51. (5157) We could see the bridge to Caribbean Cay from our side window. Overall, it was a great location, we used the Jamica beach and pool (we could see the Jamaica beach from our room, and the pool was also closer than Aruba's.)

Busses were a problem. Hiking though parking lots to the Aruba and/or Jamaica bus stops wasn't nice - for the most part, we walked across the bridge and use Old Port Royale bus stop.

I would reccomend Aruba 51, in spite of the bus stops.

Our last stay was in Jamaica Bldg. 43 (on the pool side); we were directly across the parking lot from bus stop - hardly a walk, and still close to the bridge across from OPR.

Do the King Bed Rooms have a sofa or pullout which would accomodate a third person?

So CBR will have a Pirate ship water play area with small slides, as well as a slide at the main pool still coming out of the fort?:confused3

So that's three small slides at the Pirate ship and one small/medium slide at the fort? That sounds kinda neat if it's true. I just wish/hope they have one larger/longer slide for older kids. In the pictures, all the slides look pretty small.

Does anyone know the exact date the pool construction is to be done? We will be there October 12-16 prior to our first cruise on Disney Wonder. This will also be our first stay in a mod as well as our first FAMILY only disney vacation ( extended family has always been on our disney vacations with us ), so hoping we will be able to spend some time in the new pool!

Could someone please tell me about the beds? My husband won a contest that includes a 3 night stay at Walt Disney World and they are planning to put us at the CBR. We stayed at the POR a few years ago and the beds there about killed us! I mean so bad that we barely could get dressed in the morning.

We've stayed at the CBR twice and the beds didn't bother us at all. They are double beds and I know for a fact that the mattresses were replaced in May/June, 2006. We were there when they were replacing them. Don't know if they've been replaced since then.

loving the info so far...trying to decide between CBR and POR for anniversary trip in May. Heard that the busses are a prob at CBR. Any truth to that? I'm used to value resorts so I am used to waiting for buses.

I have actually heard more rumblings about bad bus service at the Port Orleans resorts than at the CBR. The buses at Port Orleans resorts share with each other. The CBR doesn't share with any other resort. I timed our drivefrom CBR to Hollywood Studios and it took us 11 minutes. The longest bus ride we had was to Downtown Disney and that was because there was an automobile accident.

Thanks for all the info!

We're heading to CBR in October and to be honest we don't care where we situated! We're going to have a brilliant couple of weeks.

Cheers for all the tips and keep 'em coming.....:thumbsup2

The beds in both of our stays in 2005 and 2007 were wonderful....very welcoming at the end of the day spent at the parks! That's so cool that you won 3 days at WDW!! Have a great time!

We have never had problems with busses at CBR. We aren't in a huge hurry, and have enjoyed meeting and talking with people on the busses. You can get a lot of good tips from people!
