The salads are made to order by the kitchen. The difference is you don't select the ingredients like at POR. But I don't think it would be any problem to leave out some ingredients. Didn't see a kids play area in the food court.

We just got back as well (9/4-9/19). We did ask for the salads to exclude some ingredients a couple of times (specifically the chicken in the oriental noodle salad) and they were happy to comply. Also, they do serve a buffalo chicken sandwich and plain chicken breast nuggets (chunk breast meat, not processed) and my DH asked if they could add buffalo sauce to the chicken breast nuggets and they were happy to do that as well. They told us most of the time they can accommodate any request unless the items are prepared ahead of time (like the pasta salad- would have preferred no onions).

And, we were told that the kids area is indeed gone permanently from the food court area.

I'll be adding a trip report soon, still catching up with everything else after being gone for 2+ weeks.

The countdown is on. Thanks to all you posters for giving us a lot of information that my family will now put to use.
We fly out early in the morning.
Have a great week - we are planning to.

We are going to CBR in August 09 and staying in a pirate room! pirate: Yipee!! Does anyone know if there are any photos out there of how the rooms are coming along as have only seen the artists impression! When do these rooms open to the public? Can't wait to hear reports from people who have stayed in them!!!:woohoo:

We are staying here for 1 night in Oct. before our cruise. My Dad is in a wheelchair and we have a handicap room. Does anyone know where these rooms are located? SHould I also request (and pay) for preferred? We are only going to be going to DTD and then breakfast at the Food Court the next morning.
Thanks

Handicapped rooms are all around the resort. If you want to be close to Old Port Royale then yes you should reserve a preferred room.

We just switched to CBR from Coronado Springs for our Dec 13-19 trip. After reading many reviews that CSR is not exactly family friendly, AND reading about the new pool at CBR, my family (myself, DH, DD6 & DS4) is thrilled about changing. We are booking a standard view and renting a car.

I am going to spend some time over the next couple of days reading this thread to see if I/we have any questions. In the mean time, if you have any suggestions/pointers for a family with younger kids, we'd appreciate them!

Thanks,
Jennifer

My kids are 10 and 8, and I am thinking they are going to love the newly opened pool! I bet your kids will too. We stayed at CBR when both of my kids were very young. They don't remember it. So...we are also looking forward to our upcoming trip. I just broke down and made a car reservation. While I hate to fork out even more money, I am a bit relieved. I am not a very patient person ;) Welcome to the CBR thread!!

I'm not sure when the pirate rooms will be available, but they haven't started them yet, so there are no pictures, only the artist drawing.

I know my boys will love the room, though!

Thanks. I don't know what we will do yet. I don't think we will really need a preferred room for one night. My family thinks we are staying at the airport so this is a surprise for them. I am really hoping we get a chance to use the pool. I have stayed here once before and really liked it so hopefully they will too.

southjerseymom- can you tell me anything about the new slide? I read that you went on it a few times. My DDs are dying to know how it works, does it twist and turn or go round and round like the Boardwalk? Anything you call tell me would be great!!!! Thanks for the great review!!!

For real?? Woahhhh..LOL And staying at the CBR? How old are your kiddos? Mine are 10 and 8. Maybe I will see you at the pool ;) Do you also have a black and white cocker, by chance? ;) We have two now, but I just haven't updated my avatar. I would post a picture of my new girl, but that is getting way off topic from the CBR, eh? LOL!
