Thanks for starting this thread. I read your trip report as a planning tool and enjoyed it very much. You are so funny.
We are celebrating a grand-gathering and my Grandma's first trip to Disney.

This is the story behind it: In February I was planning our extended family annual beach vacation and asked Gma if she would like to go to the beach in Texas instead of NC (she lives in Texas and my brother lives in TX now as well). I emailed pictures of the options for houses and beaches. She wrote me an email back and said all the plans looked good to her but she did wish that she had gone to Disney while she was young enough. Wow where did that come from???? I said to DH, I think Grandma wants to go to Disney. I am very intuitive that way.
Well we all know that you are never to old for Disney soooo of course I wrote her back: "Gma pack your bags for Disney!" At the time I thought we would do the family beach trip in early July and we would take her to Disney with us at the end of August. When my Mom found out she said emphatically "You are not taking my Mother and my Grandchildren to Disney without ME!!!" Ummm no, guess not. My sister then got excited and jumped in on the emails, that her family would rather go to Disney than the beach this year as her boys have never been (they are 4 and an infant, don't think she has really missed the window of opportunity on that but I am thrilled they will be with us). None of us even live in the same state so that makes it extra special. My brother will not be able to join us So already the planning has started for another trip next year
Long story short we will be the 4 generation family at CBR from Aug 1-8. My step-dad will be the TALL (6'8") guy hogging the hammock

I have updated the first post to include the first members!

I don't know if you guys know it but my family are CBR lovers. We stayed there in 2006 and instantly fell in love with the resort. Since then, we've been back in 2007 and 2008.

Our 2009 vacation was originally booked at Pop Century but we were a bit worried about staying anywhere other than our favorite CBR. Last week, I called Disney to see if we could upgrade to the CBR for under $500.00. The first two castmembers said no. I was resigned to the fact that we'd just have to stay at Pop Century. Well, I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to call Disney Travel one last time. Whatever the result was, I'd be happy with it. Imagine my delight when the third castmember said we could upgrade and for just $464.00!

I was going insane waiting on our August trip to roll around so I started a trip report from our last CBR stay. For any of you who want a few chuckls, come on over for a read. We had quite a few mishaps occur.....got stuck on a ride, a tooth fell out, had a driveby scooter accident and more. Just click on the link in my trip report. I'd love to hear from you guys.

We are staying from November 19 till the 25. CBR is the only resort that we have ever stayed at. My husband and I discovered it on our first trip together to WDW. I had been before and stayed off property. It just doesn't compare. Anyway, we are celebrating that I am now a licensed counselor!! Whoohoo! Hope to see some of you there but I haven't noticed anyone who posted the same dates as mine.

Going to the Carribean first time AUgust 23rd-29th. Driving down fom Upstate NY!

Very worried about this pick, as I keep reading how spread out it is. BUt DH really wanted a relaxing vacation and asked to go to a BEACH, so here we are! ROFL. He got his wish. Living in the mountains, we don't ever get to a beach, unless it is a man made one, so he'll never know the difference!

DD10 loved FQ last year, and it was good because of the water slide, so I couldn't go back down to a value! So here we are, we will be celebrating our anniversay and DD10 will be turning 11!

OUR 25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY!!

I am looking forward to the stay, we are doing Disney in slow-motion this time. (Went with teenagers last time.) As long as we get a king size bed and I have a steady supply of cool drinks, my va-cay is golden.

I only have one reservation.... air plane travel
But I am not allowing myself to think about that till 8-18.
I have never flown before, so I will be happy to set my tootsies safely on the grownd in Florida and ANYTHING after that is bonus.

Hi there, we are staying at CBR from Aug 24th-31st. We will be celebrating our first stay at CBR, and more importantly, my birthday!!!

We'll be there Aug 8-15. Just me (mom) and DS 11 ( almost 12)
We are celebrating DS11's absolutely stunning accomplishment of maintaining Honor Roll and winning a big science award all while dealing with a chronic medical condition which had him hospitalized three times for several days each time plus he had to have a teacher come to our home for 4 weeks! I'm one proud mama Here we come middle school

This is our first visit to CBR and our first Disney hotel (stayed off site and at Shades of Green).

We are staying in a Pirate room. We also have the Dining Plan. I want to get as much done as we reasonably can but we will be back so if we miss something it’s no biggie, plus DS has a medical condition so breaks will be necessary and the day we check out of CBR he is going directly to a camp for kids with his condition. I don’t want him totally wiped out from all the Disney Fun and miss out on all the camp fun!

We have the military 5 day tickets with PH and Water parks and more. I also have 2 unused base tickets from last year which I may need to upgrade to get more days, PLEASE advice as to the best way to do this, should I buy lost of days with the no expire option and save unused days for the next trip?I am a FL resident too. So here we go…

Sat 8/8 – Check in, explore resort go to Downtown Disney/ Disney Quest. ADR 5:00 T-REX (I know it’s not on the DDP)

Sun 8/9 – DHS rope drop, Sci –Fi ADR 12:30. around 3:00 we will leave the park and go back to the hotel to rest up for our 8:00ADR at CRT and the evening EMH. What time to we need to leave CBR to get to our ADR in time?

Monday 8/10 – Sleep in a little to recover from evening EMH. We have an ADR at Ohana for 10:10 then off to a water park for a few hours the back to the hotel to freshen up. We need to be in MK for a Pirate makeover at 6:00.Then we have to be at the CR around 8:15 for the Pirates and Pals Wishes Cruise.

Tuesday 8/11 – Help! I can’t decide. Another water park? Play at CBR (Sea Raycers etc) or DHS or AK. We have ADR at Rose and Crown at 6:55 and we will stay for Illuminations ( either in the R& C or somewhere else in Epcot) Epcot does have EMH this night form 9pm-12:00 but we will bail out after Illuminations.

Wednesday 8/12 - MK from Ropedrop till ??? afternoon break then back to MK. No ADR’s today we will use CS and snack credits.

Thursday 8/13 – AK at rope drop. I plan on spending the day here. We have LeCellier ADR’s at 6:05. Now here is my dilemma…DH wants to see Fantasmic and this would be the night to do it. Can we get from dinner to Fantasmic in time for seating? I’m willing to skip Fantasmic if need be.)

Friday 8/14 – I’ve left this day pretty open but I want to plan something special. I have an ADR at Coral Reef at 5:25 but I’m willing to cancel it if it gets in the way of a better plan. Maybe Epcot at rope drop since we don’t have an Epcot morning scheduled then the afternoon at the hotel? I want to something really fun this night but need ideas.
