Caribbean Beach question

I am considering a stay at Carribean Beach. What building or section of the resort is best? I don't want to be too far away from the "action" but don't want a lot of noise either. My son (7 years old) loves the pool. My husband loves the beach. Have any buildings been refurbished lately? Anyone stay in a Pirate room? Is the extra money worth is or should I stick to a standard room? How is the bus service to the parks? Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

Before there were any Pirate rooms we stayed at CBR and were in the Trinidad South section. It seemed so remote. I think that's where the Pirate rooms are now. If you are interested in being close to the main pool or the main building I would consider one of the closer sections.

Don't forget to explore the island, Caribbean Cay.

We've stayed at the CBR six times with those stays being Mid-May, late May (including Memorial Day and Star Wars Weekends), early June and early August. We have never had any issues with the buses during any of those times.

We have stayed in Jamaica 41 twice, Jamaica 42 once, Martinique 25 and 26 (both preferred...upgraded free one and booked it once) and Martinique 23. Our walks from the standard rooms were no longer than 5 minutes, at a leisurely pace, from Old Port Royale (food court, main pool, marina, etc.)

I think you'll be pleased to know that there are bus stops, quiet pools, laundry facilities and beaches in each of the resort villages so you won't be far from any "action". As I said, the walk to Old Port Royale isn't bad at all from the standard rooms.

If you were to book a pirate themed room, those are located in the village of Trinidad South which is a bit further from the rest of the villages. I've walked over to Trinidad South to take a look around and my walk back to OPR (again at a leisurely pace) was about 7 minutes.
