We have a party of 11 going April 13-April 20, 8 Adults and 3 children. We are stearing towards th Caribbean Beach Resort but have also considered All Star Movie to save some money. Anyone have any info, is it worth the extra money? :flower:

I answered your post on the resorts board. I suggest checking out the CBR FAQ's listed below for help in your decision.

I just got back from staying a week at CBR with my two boys and they loved it. They have a fun pool and a kid friendly food court. I do not know much about ASM but i would definately recommend CBR.

I've stayed at both and I honestly prefer All Star Movies. The Caribbean Beach was nice but to me it wasn't that great to pay the price jump. They pool is really pretty though. The one thing I remember that I didn't like was that there seemed to be a million bus stops (O.K., a little exaggerated ;) ) and the place was so spread out that we had a hike to the pool and food court. I have only been once in April and from the weather then I would say it wouldn't be a problem but when we were there (at CB) it was in August and any extra outside walking in that heat just wasn't worth it.

We love the ALL Stars. Mainly for price, secondly I think they are Disney themed the best which I love. Some adults aren't as into Disney themed things though so that may not be important to you. The rooms are small, but our family only uses them to sleep and shower in.

Have fun on your trip!!!

I would also recommend if you have children with CBR is to request the Martinique or Trinidad North buildings. Those buildings will put you next to the food court and the main pool.

With kids, one thing to consider is the pool. The Moderate resorts have a slide but I don't think the value resorts do. Just a thought. I know with my kids, the pool is something we have to look at when considering where we stay.

Also, the values only have a food court and the moderates have a food court and a sit down restaurant.

I prefer the moderates, The rooms are a little larger than the value. Also, you can get a small refrigerator for free, they are $10+ a night at value resorts.

We stayed at ASM and enjoyed ourselves. We're trying CBR and POR this time (have to split up our week as I have a conference right in the middle).

The pool at ASM was nice, but no waterslide. We spent very little time at the hotel last time so it didn't matter that much to us. This time we have several travel days in which we plan to enjoy the hotel...hense the upgrade to the moderate.

CBR is my vote!! We got back on 9/27 and it was excellent! My kids are 9 & 6 and they looooooved the water slide! :goodvibes I've never stayed at ASMo, we were going to stay there but we were lucky enough to get the free dining, so we upgraded to CBR. I do feel like it is worth the extra $ to upgrade, the rooms are a bit larger and the fridge was nescesary! We stayed in Jamaica bldg#46 and we had a short trek over the lake to get to Old Port Royale ( food court, main pool ) but it was lovely, especially at night!! Bonus- if you stay in Jamaica it is normally the first shuttle stop! That was certainly welcome after a long day in the parks!!
We will definitly be going back!! :flower:

We've stayed at both, and my kids pick ASMovies hands down. Their are no slides at the pools at the Value reosrts, however there are no huge Buzz and Woody statues or other fun memorabilia as well.

The atmosphere at ASMovies is more attractive to kids (and heck, you save a couple of bucks there, too).

My family is getting ready to go on our 4th trip to WDW and we will never pay a lot of money to only sleep in a hotel. We get up early and stay late at the parks,so a hotelis just a place to stay for us...but...We have stayed at ASM two times and POP century once and We loved every time. It is far more than just a place to stay. The many pools, larger than life characters standing watch at each building, food courts, etc make it a true disney experience on a reasonable budget. Your decisionof course will be yours, but I would spend the money you save on hotel on character dining and souvenirs instead.

Have fun!
