We are staying here next week for the first time. Most of the recent reviews on tripadvisor are awful! No hot water in rooms, non heated pools etc. has anyone stayed recently? I need some good news!

Please don't panic. We had a fantastic 7 night stay at CBR back in October. Check out my mini review.

This thread is another good one that should help.

We recommended CBR to friends of ours who were there over the holidays and loved it. The pools were indeed heated. No hot water issues in their room either.

We have stayed here 4 times before, last trip was this past May and everything was fine. We have never had a problem w/ rooms being clean, they are always clean and kept clean. The pools are heated. I have read bad reviews but you can have that anywhere, you will be fine.

Enjoy!

We stayed there this past summer and had none of those problems either. Plenty of hot water in the rooms as far as I can remember! As far as no heated pools, it may be that people didn't understand how warm Disney heats the pools? They are heated but they are by no means super warm. Not warm enough for me!

We stayed there a few years ago & thought it was a long walk even with preferred but liked it better then Coronodo Springs!

I have been wondering the same thing. I have been reading the reviews on tripadvisor lately & it hasn't been good. We have reservations for June. We did stay at CBR in 2007 & loved it but the recent reviews were scaring me. We tried for POR so it was between POFQ or CBR. We went with CBR because our DS is now 11 & it is all about the pool factor. So I would like to hear some "love" for CBR:wizard:

What are your specific concerns? I was there in October, good friends were there over the Christmas Holiday and both of our stays were fantastic! Not bad, not okay, fantastic!!! Everything from the CMs, rooms, Mousekeeping, pools, etc. :thumbsup2

we were there in December. The showers were hot, the rooms were clean, the pools were heated, the food court was really not crowded, and we had a great experience with transportation. We're going back to CBR in May, and we can't wait.

I've found that a lot of Trip Advisor reviews are on the negative side rather than the positive (not just for Disney resorts but resorts/hotels everywhere). We have stayed at the CBR seven years in a row and have never encountered issues such as those that you are concerned about.

All of the pools are heated...even the quiet pools. We have swam in several of the quiet pools and in the main pool and they have been fine.

Our rooms have always been clean and everything within in working condition. The only problem we have had with the room was once our fridge didn't seem to be cooling properly and they came and gave us another. We later found out that we could have fixed the problem ourselves if we had just opened the cabinet door a little to allow air to flow around the fridge. On our last trip, we had to remind our mousekeeper that we had four in the room so that she'd leave more towels and washclothes but that issue was addressed with just a conversation with the mousekeeper.

The resort grounds have always been immaculate and well maintained. The landscaping is absolutely beautiful.

We have been at the resort when it was booked to full capacity and we would have never know it if the concierge desk castmember hadn't mentioned it.

Buses have always been efficient. The longest wait we have ever encountered was about 30 minutes and that was the day that my husband decided to sleep in and not join us at Hollywood Studios until mid-afternoon (not peak traveling time anyway). Other than that, our waits were minimal both going to and coming back from the parks. Because the resort is centrally located, it won't take you long to get to any Disney destination.

The food court has a nice variety to choose from and we have always been able to find a clean table to sit and enjoy our meals. Our favorites are the Reuben sandwich, the fresh tossed salad and the pizza and pasta station. The grab n go section is fantastic when you want to...well...grab something and go.

If you have some time to spend at the resort, I'd recommend renting a bicycle or surrey bike from the resort marina. We rented the surrey bike for 30 minutes and were able to make two complete loops around the resort promenade within that time frame. There's also a pool table at the marina and we were told it was free of charge. If you want to take a boat out on the lake, those are available for rent as well.

I honestly think that you are worried for nothing. We absolutely love the Caribbean Beach Resort and are already counting down the days until we are back in May.

I have pictures of the resort in my trip report. The link is in my signature if you want to take a look.

The pool is by far my kid's fav of all the mods. It's a great pool.

You are going to find positive and negative reviews of ALL resorts. I would not worry one bit! Other than being a bit to big for my taste, we loved it! If it had not been July/August, the size would not have bothered me at all.

not a fan of CBR but honestly, take trip advisor with a grain of salt. There seems to be an abundance of negative reviews for everything over there.
